View Full Version : Remus exhaust for a sp20
Hey guys, Just wanted to get your opinion on a Remus exhaust for the SP20. I have a UniChip and a Injen CAI allready installed. I also have a fart box (jap universal muffler) connected to the original piping. What i'm looking at getting is the Remus exhaust and mandrel bent pipes up to the cat. What does everyone think about this settup and also about Remus. Is mandrel bending reccomended for the short distance from the cat to the Remus Piping.
Thanks Guys/Girls

For the little extra it costs, a mandrel-bent pipe has to be worth it.
I am using a cat-back mandrel zorst and a Magnaflow muffler with a Unichip. It sounds pretty nice and is not at all droney.
Remus mufflers are generally pretty good like that too, would be interested in how much $$ they want for one (much prettier than a mild steel muffler.....:)
And TDK, how much induction noise does that Injen CAI make and where did you source it locally?[/color:post_uid0]
The induction noise is not really loud. If you turn off the music then you can hear it pretty well. I got it from GCG Turbochargers in Condell Park. It was $675 installed.
As for the remus it costs $740, and i thinks thats installed. Plus on top of this you have to add the mandrel piping from the cat to the remus.

Hey TDK,
I've been reading about the Injen CAI on the us protege5 sites.... everybody has it on their car! Why is that? Is it specifically tuned for the MP5 or is it a flavour of the month?
Where did you/GCG position the air/flow sensor and other sensors?
Can you differenciate the power increase b/w the Injen CAI and the stock filter set up?
Cheers,

Have heard that Remus are good but pricey.
Maybe worth checking price for some other exhausts
before handing over the cash but if you are really
set on the remus look then go for it.

Just a thought.....
I had a quote a little while back from Hitech for full S/S catback with S/S muffler for $720, quality of them is excellent.
I went the tight-ar$e and got a mild steel thing....money pit not being bottomless.....[/color:post_uid0]
