im up for my 70k now...its prolly one of the cheapest...i think cam belt might be 80k or even 120k...but if you look in your log book thingo, it has what they do in there and how long it will take and stuff...

cam belt is 100k service..a friend of mine jsut hit it...and depending on the dealer..the fuel filter amy or may not have been done..which is a pricey part...ours wasn't cause they changed it from 50k to 100k..but our firend had hers done and the belt....something like $700 or more for the 100k.

your majors are at 40, 80, 120 and so on. Timing Belt is due at 100,000kms and is quite a labour intensive job.

if you know some you trust and will do a good job use them. I do this with my BJ, cause I know he hasn't got another 6 cars to do before home time.

80,000km service is

Coolant
Brake Fluid
Spark Plugs
Air Filter
Oil +Filter
Gearbox Oil

and a check over of everything

Dealership will charge around $350-$450 for this service

i had my 80 000km service done a couple of weeks ago at Gosford Mazda it was $334 that was Mobii 1 0w40 oil ,oil filter ,brake fluid ,no air filter because i have a K&N and the gear oil was changed the service before because it had the clutch done under warranty

0w40 oil. thats too thin. I run 15w50 semi-synthetic in my BJ. At the very least I would run a full synthetic 10w30 like Honda's do. I recently spoke to the Mazda Dealer close to me and they said I should run a 15w50 or 15w40.

Only cars I have seen come in to work using a 0w40 is the V8 Land Rovers and Range Rovers.

Did you have the shuddering clutch when cold thing too..we got ours done a while back but never got any paperwork back cause they still had to see it again for a replacement crusie module....didn't realise they changed the oil but it makes sense.

thats way over priced even for a dealership. My dealership doesn't charge that much thank goodness.

Up until my previous service, I had my car serviced at Penfold Mazda (Burwood, VIC). They scratched my alloys when rotating my wheels, so I changed to Ringwood Mazda. Ringwood Mazda are pretty good. So far, I've paid about $150 for a minor (lube) service and $320 or less for a major.

so you're either out of warranty or coming up the the end of it. either way, if nothing has gone wrong on the car chances are nothing will go wrong between now and the warranty end. dont go to mazda to service the car

BUt make sure you take it in for a check over by Mazda just before the warranty runs out (if it hasn't already) or get any niggling things fixed up.

I should say they "scratched" my alloys, but rather they chipped them with whatever tool they were using to loosen the nuts. Check out the full sized imaged to see what I mean.

As for the free hire (free hire = tautology?) cars at Ringwood Mazda, I believe they do offer them, but their booked out weeks in advance. They do also have a bus service that will drive you somewhere local to the service center.
