Hey Guys, and girls.
I think we all spend at least some time looking for engine
parts for that dream engine build, I know I have for years
now. Just wanted to start a string to add anything you
find or prices you have got for bits and pieces to give
everyone an idea of how to build the ultimate motor.

Doesn't have to be just parts it can be theories like
changing rods or stroking etc that we could thrash
around.

Hmmm....

Dream:
stroked to 2.1
Forged Pistons
O-ringed block
Shotpeened rods
Shotpeened & Polished GTR crank
Oversize/Harder Valves
Portmatched intake runners
Ported & Polished head
Cost? too much!

Reality: well, until i start costing this... :O
Forged Pistons
O-ringed block
Shotpeened crank/rods
Ported & Polished head
Harder Valves
Cost? ask me is a couple of months. maybe...

If you really really want to stroke it use a SP20 crank and
rods. I don't agree with stroking the BP. I would prefer to
bore it to square with a 85mm x 85mm setup which is best
for torque/revs. Nissan GTIR and GTR motors run square.
Read the article in Zoom from about 3 months ago about
the facts behind this principle.
I have read the stuff on the Fordlaser site and a some of
is plucked out of their ass with no real experience behind it.
If we could would like to stick to facts if possible to make
it a real builders guide.

p.s Burnt valves are from poor tuning ie running lean causing
excess heat in the chamber. Stock valves on all unleaded
cars are steel due to the increased heat from not having
lead in the fuel so what harder valves would you go to from
steel. I would save your money, get normal oversize valves
and spend the money saved on a EGT guage to make sure it
doesn't happen again. HPC coating would also help.[/color:post_uid1]
