I was reading through one of my sport compact magazines and found that a RX-7 owner decided to go with the Haltech engine management system.

It seems that it can control the ignition timing along with control of idle and fuel. I believe i have seen a kit like this before but am not sure. Is this a performance oriented computer chip ECU to replace the stock ECU or does it just give you more control to fine tune your car?

Any information you have on Haltech feel free to share. I am not too familiar with Haltech because I live in the states, but I have heard of them a few times and thought it was worth investigating.[/color:post_uid5]

as far as i know nobody is running Haltch on this board. i almost did but ended up going with Wolf.

when i was researching the Haltech, quite a few people recommended this guy to tune it:

The Hitman (http://www.hitman.hm/)

his website is sure to have the info you require, if not you can email him and he's happy to reply

Hey there,
Haltech is a full replacement ECU which controls fuel, ignition
and almost all other ecu functions eg idle up, cold start,
fan control and also boost control.

Webpage is http://www.haltech.com.au/

Other brands are Wolf, EMS, Microtech, Link.
Dealer Alternative who do the Miatas use link a lot, however
if you like the Haltech there is a guy on the 323gtx
yahoogroup in the states who may be able to help you
find a tuner over there.

Regards

Tell us how you go - it turns out that my MX-5 turbo has a Haltech E6A in it - and I have little idea about what it's capable of besides what's listed on Hitman's site.[/color:post_uid0]
