I heard on the radio this afternoon that Dwayne's (Tublade's) boss got done for price fixing at the Matilda servo at Woodridge in Logan. So Dwayne, can you clarify what this means for you and the other staff because of this? Big fines for your boss I take it?

Well to let you know, my boss did get off too, they didn't get the whole story about the situation. But i don't really much about the whole thing. We are all still working there, also this isn't the first time that this has happened to that servo, this is like the 3 or 4th time that my boss has been accused of price fixing. Just to let you know we get our fuel straight from the Shell refinery.

i vote we all change to sunflower fuel!
Unfortunately sunflower oil through Shell will cost more than Optimax as it
burns better and cleaner so thats got to cost the customer more.

Yeah it sucks getting crap from everyone getting fuel about the prices, but the ppl that say something about the price are the ones that come and fill up the next day when the price jumps up like 8-10cents.

Fuel prices in QLD were regulated by Premier Peter Beaty a couple of years ago to not rise more than 7c in a 24 hour period, however this is an unpoliced law it seems...

^ never heard of that. probably all talk and nothing in law.
i always fill up every tuesday night. if it's $5 or $50. that's when it's cheapest and that when i fill up. if the tank is always full with the cheapest fuel. never pay top price! it's not that difficult to change your buying habbits.
just remember, going out of your way to save 1c per litre is not worth it. it'll cost you far more to get there than the money you'll be saving. ditto goes for changing your grocery buying habbits
just remember, going out of your way to save 1c per litre is not worth it.
agreed 50 cents doesnt make that much difference, but if people only buy fuel when its cheapest then oil companys drop there prices :)

Or
they raise it more on a weekend to compensate
Or
The chaep days become the Not so cheap days to make more whilst leaving you with the belief that you got a bargain today
This is a game you/I cannot win
Its NOT possible
There are too many factors and we are simple enough to believe that we can
If you need fuel and its dear then put a bit in till next time, if its cheap then fill her up and thats the best you can do
OR
Remember this
Fuel is used to make your car run, it is to be BURNT in the combustion process
So
Put one of those ANDYCAPP stickers on your car and BURN all the fuel in the servo
You may never need to top up your tank again

The servo operator doen't make much money from fuel (the government and refiners do that). If you want to hurt them then then don't buy nuffink but fuel from them. As the stock on the shelf goes bad then they will have to look at the way they do buisness, have a sook at the fuel companies and eventualy go bust.
The first step is when they reduce the people behind the registers and the queues grow.....
Boycot the extras offered at petrol stations

Thats what most ppl are doing now, like Cosmo said there isn't really much money out of selling fuel, the station have to rely on selling the products in the store, its starting to really suck at work atm because seeing as the fuel price goes up the shop sales have been going down, and when they start to go down everyones hours go down, cos i've already had my hrs cut down at work because of all this price rise in fuel, and min shop sales.
**** hey that sucks! mind you fuel was alright today, i got ultimate at 109
