Anthony,
Remember this is the previous Astina. Whiteline don't
make one for our model and wont because the bottom
wishbone section is flat so you don't need one. They
make one for KF/KH lasers and think thats the bush that
is used in the earlier Astina's.

:(

I need more traction! I can only run a 15flat down the 1/4mile at the moment

I want to be running 14flats and I will be happy

what is the best sort of fuel pressure regulator?[/color:post_uid0]

hey chris, i thought you were going to sale the beast?!?
have you painted it yet?
hope you had (or going to get) your car engineered......[/color:post_uid0]

Tony,
You need to add some adjustable shocks like konis to increase
the rebound rate so that they push back harder just like the
"edge of cliff" function on the kiwi inflatable sheeps !!
This will push the weight back towards the front. Lowering
the front or "more possible" raising the rear will change the
centre of gravity to add a bit more. Changing the front any
more than horizontal will cause the car to nose-dive under brakes.

Why ask about the FPR. You running lean ?? or are you
raising the boost :) Best to ask Geoff as he did those mods
very well. An variable one that reacts and adds more when
on boost would be best.

just out of curiosity, where can you get the rear anti roll bar or whatever it's called(i can't remember right now, but it goes in the boot and stops the car from flexing)? i can't say that they are commonly available...[/color:post_uid0]

Hey eric ,

Yeah i got the car engineered last week, had the car of the road with the defects for about almost 2 months. With the paint the weekend that i got done for the defects was the weekend that i was aspose to get the car prepared but the guy had to go to a wedding or something. We are preparing the car for painting this weekend coming up and the following weekend it will be getting painted.

Not selling it anymore , my dad wants to keep it , and spent to much time and money on it to just sell it now[/color:post_uid0]

Whiteline do a rear strut brace for BA model astina's.
I don't have it yet but I will eventually. On the list of
things to get.

nah not running lean but I wanna do everything geoff did because he has never had a problem with running lean...

FPR, Fuel pump and high flow filter i should be able to run 14psi easy...

then after that i will be investing in rebuilding the turbo to run 18psi
I wont run 18psi but just I can sleep easier at night if I know my impeller blades won't shatter[/color:post_uid0]

BigBoyLemonade
23-01-2003, 04:05 AM
by the time all that is done I should be able to buy a new Mazda 6 with full options, leather and sunroof[/color:post_uid0]

23-01-2003, 04:08 AM
why not just buy it now...? or whatever car that tickles your fancy[/color:post_uid0]

BigBoyLemonade
29-01-2003, 08:46 AM
I might just do that?

who wants to buy mine for 25k?

new tyres
new paint and bodykit
everything included

I dont think anyone would?[/color:post_uid0]

IZG-00D
29-01-2003, 09:07 PM
keep both cars... i wanted to keep my astina but i cant afford to pay two insurance/rego ect.
$25k would be a reasonable price for your car considering you have turbo on...[/color:post_uid0]

BigMal
30-01-2003, 02:45 AM
Reasonable and reality are not always the same.
Don't think any of us will get close to $25K for our
cars turbo, huge bodykit or anything else.
Tony so you want more boost then :) cool. I would go
the hybrid VF8 over just a high-flo VJ20 will cost about
the same $850 bucks. You cant work out a swapover
price with Geoff as he paid big bucks for his rebuild
could be a way for him to get a couple of extra bucks
to compensate for people when they haggle him down.

So thats what you get from the 2.5" exhaust. Cool.
Ever hit the boost cut ??
I am looking at manifold designs at the moment to add
a new turbo. Would be so sweet that and the new ECU.
Be able to keep up with you then, for a little while anyway
:)

nah no boost cut... just more wheel spin.. I have a bad flat spot in the rev range though and are planning to sort that out this weekend...

Its either
- Water temp sensor to the ECU
- Oxygen sensor wires have been cut (The previous owner of my engine must have had a exhaust temp guage and ego sensor and the wires are dodgy)
- or the afm is screwed

I hope its the O2 sensor because that wont cost me anything to fix. AFM will be expensive if that is what the problem is..[/color:post_uid0]
