The box should be slightly smaller due to the subs basket is not taking up any room in the box.
You also have to reverse the polarities on the sub cause you are making it work backwards.

Your subs ts specs will determine whether it should be in a ported or sealed box.

the specs say both but im goin to run sealed for the flater frequency responce as i want SQ over Spl, the current box is sealed and sound fine and is loud enough

thx

You do need a make the box with a slightly smaller volume. But reversing polarity is not definately needed. That will all depend on how your box is placed and performs compared to your old setup.

Program's like WinISD (http://www.linearteam.dk/default.aspx?pageid=winisd) or BassBox (http://www.ht-audio.com/bbx-lite.htm) can make it easy to calculate to size for the box.

the specs for the sub should have 2 things

1. the volume of the sub magnet/casing etc for a 'inside' sub install.
2. the volume inside the cone for an inverted install.

you have to take these numbers into the maths when calculating box size. Its a mistake many people make.

eg for a normal install of a sub that needs a 50 litres , you need to make your box 50 litres + the volume of the sub. For an inverted sub, you need to make the box 50 litres - the volume of the cone.
