WELCOME dude
Your probably looking at around $5-6000 to get the engine/gearbox and have it all fitted ready to go :)
The jap import GTX BPT is 134kw @ flywheel in standard form, not sure of the quarter mile times, lantis has ran a 14.7sec in his astina

Catch ya :D [/b]

you need at least $6000 maybe more depending on who does the conversion... the car will do 0-100km/hr 7.5s and a 15.1 1/4mile on standard boost

half cuts are about $2200-$2500 which gives you most things you need...

you will need an intercooler setup cause the standard one doesnt fit in the astina, air filter, strut brace...

every conversion will cost different depending on how far you want to go and what you wanna achieve but you are looking at least $5000 to build one close to stock properly

It all depends on what you're after really, as Tony said

the more power you chase, the more you're likely to need to upgrade stuff - be it gearbox, turbo or ECU (just generalising here)

if you want something a bit faster (ie keeping up with WRXes) the standard turbo/ECU would be fine

but if you want 12's down the quarter, be prepared to spend too much!

nah just lookn for around mid 13s. i love the shape of the astina im thinking pick one up for $9k, (iv got 18inch wheels already and system.) add the engine so im think i could get out of it for around $13 - $15k for a nice car with power alot cheaper than buying a $30k rex.
do u know iv any workshops that could help me out in sydney. thnx

When I did mine years ago, I asked a couple of shops like
BD4's and they wanted 10k to do the same conversion as
what I did. I actually used the same electrics place as them
and the price difference was $500 going direct against the
$900 as quoted by BD4's. If you are not mechanical then
you can still farm the work out to an exhaust shop and
mechanic etc and still get it done cheaper. I needed my car
within two weeks so had it done professionally but by places
I chose and my conversion was about $6k inclusing $1k for
a 3" exhaust and $1500 for Intercooler and piping.
