Hey has anyone in brisbane noticed an increased number of cops on the road lately?
in the past 48 hours ive seen 3 lit up xmas trees, one of which pulled me over (more on this in a second)
ive seen two RBT's, one of which I had to go through, 3 speed cameras and porker bikes everywhere.
anyway just then, comming back from chermside (GF's house) I saw a flash, not in my rear vision mirror but I saw it light up the road. I was sitting dead on 60 however I was out in front of the traffic. That being said, there were people who had to be speeding behind me. Anyway, I hooked a U turn, drove back down the road, hooked another and drove along slowly looking for said camera the whole time... Couldnt find one. So I said to myself meh and drove on.
Anyway...
Driving along, a cop gets on my tail and starts following me through lane changes and round corners(I wasent trying to loose him... I just had to turn there). I was driving real slow at this stage, changing at 3000 rpm to avoid turbo flutter and eventually lights his xmas tree up. I keep driving for a while as theres nowhere to pull off and he gets a bit antsy but i point to a sidestreet out the sunroof and he calms down.
Anyway, he gets out, RBT's me, asks me a few questions, finds out im in teh army and go's away.
Im just woundering if the two have anything to do with each other... The flash from the non-existant camera that I couldnt find and the cop who pulled me up 300-400 M down the road.
He would have had a hard time finding me after my double hooks. I didnt see where he came from, he just appeared in my rear vision mirror.
Im not worried. The cop didnt seem all that upset with me, and I wasent speeding. If I get something in the mail in 2 weeks time my plan is to fight it, as I do not believe I was doing anything wrong.
Come to think of it, ive been flashed once before, and it light the whole ass-end of the car up. This flash didnt seem aimed at me... I dunno. Im going to ring the local police station up tommrow and ask them what the go is.
