It's late, i have a cold and i have to get up at 6am. grr

But anyway, what i need to know is what the standard compression ratio is for the BP26 (GTX) engine? and for the BPD (GTR)?

as with all the work that's being done to my engine, it's changed the cr from what it was with the old pistons...and i'd like to know if there's any difference, as i can basically choose what i want with the headwork thats about to be done

cheers
Dan

7.9:1 for the GTX
8.2:1 for the GTR

If the source is correct.

ahah sweet Jimbo - where'd you get them from? just curious, that's all

hmm i would have expected the GTR one to be about the same...

might pick a happy medium and go for about 8.1:1

From memory out of my TX3 manual (Its with the Mechanic so cant look)
the GTX/TX3 motor is 8.2/8.3. If you are running more boost lower
would be better, but the offset is loss in off boost performance. The lower
the CR the more air/fuel that you can put into the cylinder before
problems with detonation etc from very high compressed pressures.
Wouldn't go much lower than 8:1 on a street car thou.

Mal

okay, found on a few sites (including this one which is pretty much gospel about GTRs) that the GTR CR is 8.2:1

and i'm going to go with that :)

and yeah, i agree Mal - but i wasn't sure what it was as standard :)

You two referring to that "Banzai" show that was on a while ago? Wish I'd seen it, had the guy at work telling me 'bout it. Anybody tape it?
