Can we come to an agreement on the size of an avatar... some of these avatars are quite large and get a bit annoying as they blow a 2 line post out to the size of a 15 line post.

mine is 150x80 ... how about we say a max of 150x150? Possibly you can limit this via phpBB Tony?

as much as i love looking at a nice pic of catherine bell... thats what wallpapers are for dudes.... maybe try somthing constructive like your car :)

Guess that counts you out Sandyman... you could put a pic of your mums car up if u want...

Peace out.

the max size according to phpBB is SUPPOSED to be 100x100 pixels.
And the file size should be no more than 10kb.

I thought it would do a check, obviously it doesnt.

I can put one in if you want , Tony ? For avatars stored on remote sites ?
I can use the same javascript from the RR that checks the dimensions.

All you need to do is find the img tag for the avatar in the right template and put in fixed dimensions. That way regardless of it being local or remote, the file will be scaled to a fixed sized.

I will be forcing the limit too 100x100 very soon... so get ready for all your avatars to be reset

For my avatar i used th same one as last forums. 100*75 i think. Why so big now?

Its due to your image not actually being the right size... the old forums would just resize it but all along we have been downloading that large image

yes but what if the image is smaller ?

i dont wanna force the sizes of avatars to only 100x100. Just make sure they arnt any bigger ! :)
