Where can you get hold of custom dials for dash. ie. white.
Has anyone got these? I think stock SP20's do don't they?
Also, would like to change the illumination to blue or red.
Is this just a simple process of changing the bulbs in dash?
Cheers,
Dave (323 noobie).[/color:post_uid0]

they do exist, but where to get them escapes me momentarily...

but as you say, i'd imagine that the SP20 ones would be a straight swap :)[/color:post_uid0]

Just asking as the Mazda parts division make more $$$ than a drug cartel![/color:post_uid0]

i can get u some clear indicators (direct fit) for $40 pickup, or $48 posted out to you. all you'll need is some orange globes then.

i didn't realise Mazda sold the clear ones - hom much do they want for them? just out of curiosity[/color:post_uid0]

i've got white dials which I picked up at a shop in box hill. Not 100% sure on their price, but I got mine at a special auto-salon price of $180.

They have a little controller button which allows you to switch between green and blue in gradual steps.

somewhere in this forum there's a post with my pics ... not sure where tho at the moment ???[/color:post_uid0]

Just about the dials - the SP20 ones are white with red illumination but I don't know anything about the tech side of things

i would imagine that you'd be able to get some from a autoparts store - but they'd probably have to order them in.
and it'd be the same price for qld - $48 :)[/color:post_uid0]

I called a local Mazda dealer & they says that Mazda don't make clear indicator lenses.
Obviously rupewrecht's aren't genuine??
Which neck of the woods are u from rupewrecht?[/color:post_uid0]

oh yeah, didn't even think to say they're not genuine. but they're identical to the mazda ones in fit and finish. heaps of people on the board here have them.

and i'm in melbourne!

mazda do make them, but i think it's a Japan-only thing. about $110 USD a set from memory![/color:post_uid0]

I'd probably be after 2 sets (a mate is after them for his new Protege). I assume the ones you can get are made to fit the latest shape?
I am also in Melb. Just a matter of whether you are near enough to justify pickup.
Are you near Werribee, City, Moorabbin or Bayswater?[/color:post_uid0]

yep, the indicators fit 1994-2002 models. and Kyra has some on his 2000 SP20 so we know they fit for sure :)

well, i work in south melbourne, or after work i'm usually in Ringwood - which is a stones throw from Bayswater[/color:post_uid0]

yep, they fit great on my 2002 sp20 (not 2000 dan!!)

save yourself some hassles and split with the extra $8 to get it sent up to QLD!!![/color:post_uid0]

Sorry man, I don't really care if they aren't genuine. So long as they fit properly I'm happy. I assume they will fit the front guard on the current model.
I would like 2 sets as a mate has a new Protege.
BTW, I called Mazda. One dealership quoted $1300 for the white SP20 dash (you can't buy just the facsia!). The other was $1060 + GST. Around $1166.
Mazda are shifty buggers!
I am from Melb too. Are you anywhere near Werribee, City, Bayswater or Moorabbin. Wondering worth pickup is worth it?[/color:post_uid0]

you could get them thru me :;):

but unfortunately you can't strip the color that way - they're molded orange. and turps would make them cloudy anyway[/color:post_uid0]

clear guard indictors for just $44.

thats where ours (everyones') are from i think

The 626 blinkers are the same size as the VX commodore ones and im pretty sure the 626 and 323 share the same blinker so they should fit as i have VX blinkers with orange bulbs on my 626, they fit straight in and can be had for less than $30, you will have to silicone them onto your quater panel, and cut a few unneeded bits on the VX blinkers but they do fit!!!

Alternatively you can mount the clear lense on the original backing,
here is the write up:

i couldnt get them off either. But i didnt need coz mine slipped over the original ones.

Be careful tho - I messed up my speedo and it was reading 20kph under what I was actually going. The needle had moved or something.

I'll be pulling my dash apart one day soon so i can scan mine i suppose. or you can try my pics as a guide ??? If you want a higher resolution photo i can send email u that if you like.

Just a note on the side indicator lenses...

The part numbers between the clear and orange ones are like -01 and -02. The same part is used in pretty much every Japanese imported Car. My mums 2002 Laser has the exact same side indicator lenses as my 1995 Astina, and I think the Lancers are the same too.

Don't worry about genuine (like anyone here really was anyway) as there probably is no such thing as genuine. Some guy in Korea is churning out thousands of these things and sell them to Ford/Mazda/Kia/whatevathafukelse anyways.

Cheers :) Trav[/color:post_uid0]

everything is illegal these days...cant have those led lights, cant have anything but orange for indicator colour etc.

I saw a guy get defected last w'end coz his indicators and parker lights were red. Those washer lights are illegall too... as are neons when the car is moving. You can have em on when you're stationary tho.

I was driving once with my neons on and had a cop flash the lights at me from behind...i turned it off and he just left... he mustve got a root or was gonna get a root lol :p so he let it go.

I just found this thread in the Mazda6Club.com (http://www.goonish.com/atenza/read.php?TID=1375&page=1) website and wanted to know if we can get these for our 94-98's. They're supposedly called "Reverse Indiglo's" and this guy has them in his 99 Protege.

I just found these (http://www.procarparts.com/store/displaydetails.cfm?pid=MAZ-PGE-9597-SVGL-XXXX-RGGX). I'm not sure if they're what you're looking for. There are a few other models that you can actual colour, like these ones. (http://www.procarparts.com/store/displaydetails.cfm?pid=MAZ-PGE-9597-EUGL-XXXX-RGGX) I'm going to emial these blokes and see if we can order just the km/h on the speedo rather than the miles and km/h.

The right gauge is 2 piece, as well as the warning lights on the tacho. And the side warning lights are completely different

What brand name are your dials. Worth searching to see
if anybody has a set sitting on a shelf somewhere. I like
the idea of changing it to blue over the green.
