hey all. got to work this morning and the new apprentice came up and told me he tried to race an astina on the weekend. he said the rego was WTF-323. said he only just lost because he had heaps of weight in the car. yep rightio!! he drives an 83 DATSUN exa turbo. this thing cant even keep in front of me, but he does have a sub in the back, so taking that out would compensate for the 30 kW difference right?? i am not sure wat would make up for the 250 kW between his and robs car though...

neway i thought that it was really funny :D

cheers

Did he mention that I waited for him to boot it when the lights turned green? Did he also mention that I found out the hard way that 2nd gear syncro's are stuffed and it sounded like I left the box on the road behind me? Did he also mention that he still got SMOKED! lol And I was still able to pull up to turn into the driveway of KFC. :D

Ah it was a bit of fun to put an Exa in it's place. Oh, if he thinks he's in with a chance, tell him I'll put my stereo in and run stock boost, and he can stip his car to get rid of that ALL that extra weight, and then we'll race. hehehe.

P.S.
My poor gearbox. :( Tis all good though. hehe

Hehehe, cool!

The only reason he had a go was because he went past me, the lights turned orange and then he cut the car off in front of me so that he'd be at the front....so I just obliged and swung out next to him to teach him not to cut off other rd users. ;) lol

hehehehe
ma friend had an old exa like that
a funny wedge shaped car
it kicked ass actually, like very impressive. way too much power for the standard wheels thoguh, just no grip at all! and even thoguh it was 5 speed you only needed the first 3.
but still, one driver in an exa like that is a TONNE Of weight hehehe
me and my friend could notice the difference when his dog was in the car hahahah

i havent ever seen an exa in great condition though
thers not much cool bout lookin at a real old car blowin out smoke constantly!
i think a standard bg Sp should beat it thoguh

Those Exas (and ET Pulsars) can be very quick, but they **** gearboxes too...but at least there's a way to fix that with them...bah

89sp1.8 - Nah i just traded em in for WTF-323, suits the car heaps better. :D

Mike - Yeah no offence to him, but his car looked like it needed ALOT of work.

Really!! I didn't know that.

But yeah, it is probably one of the best examples of a clean and tidy exa.
