Tin Can Bay Rd, between Gympie and Tin Can Bay...
At 10pm at night there is a far amount of fog, on and off in sections. It an easy road to drive on where travelling at 140kph sometimes happens. Lots of long straights and twisties along the way. Anywayz a 140kph in fog a wallaby apears in front of me, the little bugger just was sitting in my lane watching me come onto him. i swerve into the opposite lane and he hadn't moved. as i'm running past him, he still hasn't moved and i look over the passenger seat and i swear he is giving me the, "ha ha, you moved 1st" look. cheeky little bugger.
anywayz, nothing like allittle excitement you get your heart racing late at night. just wish i didn't have to have that i'm gonna have a big dent and i killed an animal feeling to get that rush.

well I have more than a few....but one good one was actually at low speed coming out of the drive at work....we have alot of squirrels around and I found the one bent on suicide....that combined with I sometimes forget just how low my car was atthe time....I come scooting around out of the drive at about 30mph and he waits till I am about 10-15 ft from him and he runs out and sits right in front of my car.....I thought I would miss him as he was not in the way of my wheels...I found out the mistake of this thought as I heard him rebounding off the floorboards
the other really good one was a few years back on the west range road at Fort Hood, TX...I was travelling about 70mph and out of nowhere a raccoon about the size of an english bulldog runs out in front of me...I hit him and kept going figuring it'll just be roadkill and I was running late for work...and not happy to be working on a saturday....well the little bugger got the last laugh....when I got to work and got out of my car to see if I broke anything...a full 1/3 of my front bumper was gone including one of my brand new fog lights....I think I was more amazed than mad though....tough little thing also, later that afternoon I went back to find where I hit it...I could find no trace...not even the foglight....

Where I grew up in tassie, it is fairly mountainous and hilly, and as a young p plater I used to drive the road up and down to Lake Barrington, just out of Sheffield.
It was sort of like the road up to Arthurs Seat here in Vic, but about 5 times as long. All hairpins and sharp, off camber corners.
One day me and my mate jumped in my Corona and decided to do a run down and back up in the rain, and as I came out of one of the hairpins sideways another car was coming up the hill.
This was at about 7 in the morning, normally there was no traffic at that time. Talk about filling my daks, I just managed to get the car back in line as the Camry, with old man at wheel, slack jawed, went past me. I think he probably crapped himself as much as I did.

Haha, Tassie and squirrels, that reminds me of the suicidal rabbits down in Tassie. One time as I was going up Mt Wellington, a rabbit raced me up the hill, and just like Clark Kent and that damn freight train (Superman The Motion Picture), he swerved across infront of me to get to the other side. You shoulda seen him lose traction with those little back legs scampering! I think he gave me the finger on the way across too Ryan! :p

Lol what it it about tassie?
I had a suicidal Sparrow there. I'd had the Astina a couple of weeks and took it over on the boat and went down the west coast in a day. Driving along at over the 100kph limit, i see a bird fly across the front of the car and disappear. Now, you'd logically think that it'd fly over the car or be sweft out of the way by the force of air. But no, it was embedded in the tiny grille the Hardtop has at the front. Yuck.

Driving down the M2 behind some trady in a ute with all sorts of stuff on the back,
All of a sudden a piece of sheet metal lifts up from the back of his car, about 2M long by 15-20 cm. Its dancing in the air about 2-3 meters up, I look right nup there a car there, left is rock wall, ahh fark fark what to do what to do, at which point the sheet suddenly drops to the ground lands flat and I drive over it,
Was having flashes of Final Destination you know where the tree trunks go flying through someones window.
Now that was a rush.
driving in my mates ole valiant turning right on some leaves car spins 90 degress but the car is still heading in the same direction, driver looks left I look back at him share a quick this aint good moment then impact with gutter,
wasn’t bad we drive away but just that moment we both relise we are now going sideways was friggin gold, lucky we where going fairly slow, cause those leaves where like ice.
