I have finally got the perforated Aluminium.....
Thankyou Lord....
I was wondering if anyone had a front bar, in any condition, that I could borrow, to create a template with......
The good news is that the minimum size I can buy the metal, then take it to fabricators to get the perforations punched means I will have enough for three front bars, depending on the template.
Sooooo, are there two other people interested in purchasing pre drilled and possibly cut to template to fit front bar? I should have more definate idea of cost shortly, but you are in for a very pleasant surprise regarding the costs
Cheers
Happy Kitty!!!!!!!

Hello again Kitty Kat Smack :)
I found pre-done Aluminium at Autobane  it is 20cm by 120cm, various colours and styles. It's about $40 :(
You reminded me I know of a metal fabricator who I should be able to punch various patterns. Anyone coming to the Melbourne Cruise who can bring a sample I can take to them would be helpful 8)

Have to get the aluminium in 1/4 sheet and then get it perforated then get it cut to size, it won't cost extra to have it cut to a template that will fit the front bar beautifully....
Basically it will cost us $35 each!
not including my running around, but I am doing it for lurve.......
I am sick I know
So, I need two people with BA hatches that want 120 x 20 perforated aluminium not that mesh you get from supercheap or *chokes* autobastards.
Hands up?
You in Mick?

Just one thing. Im worried about this stopping air getting to the motor. i had this problem with my Very small mesh i had before. My car just keeped getting real hot and almost overheating (didnt over heat tho).
i think this will happen again with this style!
i know dan has it but his car is off the road atm.

I don't think so Mick, have another look at his pic, the perforations are off set and there are plenty of them... lots of air flow!!!!
and it's the forward motion of the car that pushes the air into the holes anyway and you will get cool air coming up from underneath anyway.....
I am not worried about it, but check around and ask the other fella's that know a heck of a lot more than me
ie/ Lantis, Dan and Cosmo Dude....
Post a new thread with it......
They will know if anyone does, or post it on the syndicate boards ~ Aleks knows EVERYTHING, lol!!!
Wont be much air coming up from underneath. There are two small holes which allow air to flow through the plastic stuff covering the bottom of the engine bay.
Regardless, you want cool air flowing onto your radiator. Dans setup wont affect him alot as the mesh isnt covering where his intercooler will sit and the radiator will get leftovers from the intercooler. If you cover the entire gap, as mik said, you may inhibit the volume of air able to reach the radiator and hence heat transfer will not be very efficient and your car will run much hotter.

Tanks Dan,
I will see what I can do about size price. Kitty Kat Smack has proven that a bit of imagination and leg work and you can save your-self some money.
