Can anyone recommend a car shop or whatever that can supply and install a CAI system for my 1.8L BA 97 Astina Hatch in the Melbourne area?

Should I even get one?

The other day I saw a Black Toyota Corolla that had car modification advertising along the side of it - GPS, Central Locking..... ABS.... Turbo.. and Cold Air Intake.. But as I was driving at the time, I couldn't take down the telephone number.

Thanks

we'll probably be making a cai for the BA in the not too distant future....

You can make your own easily enough - there should be a few threads in the technical section but you'll have to search for them.

If you make a purdy aluminium one that'll suite a hardtop V6 you'l' have a gauranteed buyer here champ.

the main issue is getting a car to test build one on... know of any hardtop v6's in the brissy area who wouldnt mind loaning us their car for a few hours to take measurements then a few hours again to test fit once its all set? if so, a complete custom built CAI could be yours for a price of.... well... we dunno yet :)

but yeh, all we need is a car to build the thing on and we can do it for you asap....email us the details to the address in my sig, let us how much you are looking at spending (be realistic, of course...cant do one in aluminium for $50 hehe...) and what you need..will build to your specs...can provide pod filter etc to go with it as well.

After you get the specs, how long will it take to prepare?

I'm just ultra lazy and want someone else to prepare and install for me..

Keep in mind, I have the BA hatch, not the hardtop...

shouldnt take too long... once we work out the angles and whatever else, and work out if it can be done as a one piece with multiple bends or if it needs welding, we'll get a deposit off you and prepare the thing, test fit it on whatever car we use to get the measurements off, once its all sorted out, contact you for balance and ship to you by whatever method you require. We can of course also supply a filter to fit.

Installation...well, shouldnt be overly too much of a hassle...will more or less involve removing hte stock intake back to the throttlebody, and whacking ours in its place... a few brackets will hold it in place along the way....shouldnt take you anymore then an hour to do the whole thing....assuming there are no surprises to be found under the bonnet of the BA (i personally havn't seen inside one of these, but we'll know of any problems when we do our test fit here in brissy, so will be able to give you a heads up)

Well mr worm, or should that be lord worm? anyway, pretty big space once you take out the air box and resonance chamber. Nice large spaces through to the front bar. Can't think where you would run into difficulty.
