As some of you know I am moving soon to the gong. My wheels are currently registered in qld. I am also staying in the gong for only a twelve month stint and then back to QLD. I do not wish to change my rego over to NSW. I have looked at NSW legislation (ie. the law) and there is no mention that I can not operate my interstate registered vehicle in NSW for long periods of time. There is mention that a corporation can not but nothing saying that an individual is not allowed. QLD however says that a vehicle cannot be registered in QLD unless its garage address is in QLD. I will be keeping a qld address as the vehicles garage and registered operators address. Does anyone out there have any experience with driving an interstate registered vehicle in NSW for longer than three months? I am assuming the cops won't like it and considering my car sticks out like dogs balls at a lesbian picnic I will most likely be a regular pull over. thanks

Mate, i wouldn't worry about it too much. As loong as you keep your QLD licence as well everything should be fine. I've been driving around Victoria for the last 6 months with my NSW rego and no one has said anything, even when i was pulled over for a breath test.

Don't worry about it. It's the cheapest way out of the situation.
