This would be an awesome tool for us all to have. Pipe dream i know but u never know.

can't justify the price tag.... Mazda will read and re-interpret fault codes for $50... if your nice they will do it free....
i realise this doesn't help with realtime diagnostics....

Aftermarket Standalone engine management system will set you back between $1000-1500 and you can do all your tuning on your laptop. Add a wideband o2 sensor and you are cooking and for a hell of a lot less and tuning is much easier once you know how

It would be useful for the extra bits like the ABS, Airbags or auto trans but would cost more to transport from user to user than it was worth.

Can do the same stuff with something like ScanTool (http://www.scantool.net/) and OBD software as well. And it would be only a couple hundred $'s I think...

Haven't seen that model... nice!
Only reason I like the scantool stuff is because you could have a fully custom gauge cluster driven by a computer, would be very funky... But it would probably be a PITA to get perfect :)
