I'll be in that, and depending on the weather, the BBQ sounds great... somewhere near Eastern beach sound ok? Lorne is a decent drive, though a pleasant one...weaving through the traffic.

well,
i shall have to chat to the g.f but we can most probarbly have the BBQ at torquay. which is roughly 15 min out of geelong. nice spot :) like i say i will already be in geelong from the firday night so im all for organising food etc at that end so long as someone is there to hand out maps at the meet point. Todd Rd service centre right before westgate bridge is the absolute best spot to meet when heading out west. The ballarat boys can meet up at the BBQ :)

well stopping at torquay for a bbq would be great then going onto lorne :) so long as there is good communication between the two parties coming down i should have the BBQ ready upon arrival :) Space to park/ BBQ is minimal down in lorne and its a fair stretch doing melb to lorne in one sitting. a stop in torquay would be grand!

cruise will be an all day event. id say an 11am departute time from todd Rd service centre. return to melbounre at around 6-7pm ish. so a full day! lots of fun, lots of land speed records along geelong road too :) and no bacon its scrubbed off the list.

ok guys 9 days togo! all melways refrences are penciled in! however in the case of bad weather the BBQ spot will be changed to the undercover units in taylors park. MAP 237 J4 just 100m up the road :) i will however wait for everyone at the origional meeting point while the GF fires up the BBQ :) at whichever site :)

we will be expecting everyone to arrive in torquay by 12:30 so if the ballarat boys and :jear: wanna come down and meet up half an hour earlier then thats cool too as we will be firing up the bbq @ 12:10 :) :)

BILL: ill need ure mobile just to let me know how many cars/how much food ill need to get :)

I'm not an Astina driver (long story). My brother (known as MrPayner) has one, and I used to own a 1997 Ford Laser (which shared the running platform and engine of the Astina) which is why I am here. I got to know these guys and stuck around. :roll:

um.. stupid question.... which service center are we meeting at? isn't there two? and if we do end up on the wrong side, how do u get to the other end? seems like u can only get to the service centers off the freeway(from what i can see on the melway), does that mean we have to drive to the next offramp and do a 'U'y?

We are meeting at the OUTBOUND shell service centre. so drive as though you are going over the bridge and just pull into the service centre on your left... Todd Rd service centre.

I think we are planning to leave todd road at 10.45, so we can get to torquay by 12.15ish. I am assuming 45mins to get to Geelong and another 30mins to get to Torquay, with 15 mins left over because I know not everyone will be there by 10.45!!!
