MEGUIRES all the way  First i washed and chamoised it,hit it with the Meguires fine cut cleaner with the electric buffer i have, then i hit it with the Meguires Wet Look polish by hand to finish it off
All up it took 3 & half hours for the whole lot :D
Now theres a good way to waste 3hrs of ur life :)

I bought the SO an electric buffer for his birthday in early April, it's still sitting in it's box :(
But now that we have moved, we can spend some time on our beasties :)

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm'
Like the Meguiar's stuff, I use the quick detailer (not as often as I'd like) and it brings up the paint :D :D :D
I washed, polished and Meguiared the Cosmo, '81 original paint, looked fantastic 8)

Very nice pics of your car! Love what you've done to your astina! So what's next for your Astina? You should put some eyelids on the headlights as it'll make your agressive front end look even more aggressive! :D
I noticed you have a funky red interior in your avatar..
Got any close up pics ToyBoy?

I like the mesh.... mmmmmm mesh.....
and you have done something to the nose?
it is different, has cut outs??
What is that?
And the red interior is very slick....
OK, so I am jealous, but I can admit it.
Slowly but surely I will do things to mine, but not before I have many more biscuits to spend ($$).
Well done Toyboy!

What do you mean by the nose?the front bar? its an aftermarket front bar,its pretty much how it came except that it has been chopped a little now and raised :P
And you dont need the much $$$ to do something with the interior,i payed $180 to have the doortrims retrimed with the red cloth and the rest i painted up for $70 :)
The foot pedals & gearknob cost $20 each/Snapon seat covers $48 each so the total for that interior was $386 very affordable :P
I know its not as flash as a leather interior but its effective enough for people on a budget

You painted it??
OMG!
That is amazing work!!!
I am gobsmacked!
It looks awesome!
I couldn't afford leather in a million years, and I doubt I would ever look after it properly anyway....... I am lazy!
I am now totally blown away.... Holy f#$k!
And the nose, not the bar... you have cut outs where the mazda badge is on my astina.... you have a newer astina than mine, but I haven't seen the nose (where the bonnet joins the front) done like that.
Am I making sense of where I mean?
Prolly not!
Painted it.... *mumbles* omg..... *mumbles*

The bit you are talking about on the nose is a part of the replacement front bar,its all complete

The interior has to be seen in person to appreciate how it really looks

I do like it anyway....
But what is wrong with your seat covers?
Or are they supposed to be floppy?
Er... not fitted?
I just say it wrong!!
What kind of seat covers are they?
And have you seen the ones in the catalogue that have neon in the seat covers themselves that react to noise?
LMAO!!!!
You won't see it very well with someone sitting in the seat but funny nonetheless......

Just wondering what sort of paint you used for the interior? Any problems with it chipping?
The interior is one of the things on my list of jobs, but have never been sure on the paint. Turthfully my specality is electronics so my hope is to paint it and fill it with super bright white LED's as lighting highlights.
Has anyone tried anything along these lines? Any pointers?

Hey Pernod,
What's the go with the pic of your flat on your website?? You've got that panoramic picture of the flat with the window on the left.... the reflection of the TV in the window doesn't match the actual picture?? Is that a pic of yourself with a shirt and tie? Hahaha, I thought, "What the heck...." as all the other reflections match up... Very interesting indeed.....

Nice ovbersation - its actually a series of pics joined together in photoshop. Consequently the reflection of the tv in the window was taken a few seconds before the one showing the actual tv, and the image on the TV had changed in those few secs :-)
