View Full Version : Me Thinks It's Bloody Time For A NSW Cruise!!!

Red Frog

Right. That's it! These days I have to go to QLD for a cruise!!...which btw are damn well worth it (thanku ryan, gav & nate;) )....So I have decided, seeing as the Lastina is getting extremely toey, it's time to roll out the mid-year NSW cruise!!

<Insert WOOT! WOOT! WOOT! noises here>

If you're interested anytime in Aug/Sept and hav any suggestions of where to go, post away or forever hold your peace. Newbies! Lurkers! and i know there's quite a few of you, this is your chance to FINALLY meet the wonderful family of AGT.

I'm open to all suggestions, most dates and any hands to help organise it. Once we've got a number of ideas/dates, i'll make a poll and then an official thread. here's a few ideas to get you started....

Half-day/night cruises followed by: a night at the drive-in cinemas at Blacktown or Bass Hill, ten-pin bowling, dinner, kayaking (late sept), go-karting at Butterfly Farm (Windsor)....

Full-day cruises:
Sydney surrounds: Galston Gorge, Royal National Park/Bundeena (!!!), Bobbin Head NP, West Head NP/Cottage Pt/Akuna Bay/Church Pt (!!!!), Windsor, La Perouse, Botany Bay NP, Warragamba Dam.....

NSW: Wiseman's Ferry, Patonga (Central Coast), Blue mts (mmm a hot lunch & hot choccy!), Stanwell Tops, Cataract Dam, Wollongong, Kangaroo Valley, Newcastle, Hunter Valley (!!), Kiama, Jambaroo, Port Stephens/Nelson Bay....

Dust off the cobwebs and get ur creative, energetic brains into gear and start suggesting!

X Leigh :D

also wanted to know if anyone else lived in or near campbelltown??

Ceudos for organising a cruise, never been on one, better pm rupe about those stickers. Count me as a very probable for late sept, will need at lease fortnight notice to free up the weekend.

Red Frog
27-07-2006, 12:31 AM
SLIGHTLY OT:
YAHAHAHA! i could do the kermit dance, but it's a little too early to bring that out ;) lol
yeah i need to get a sticker too, but want a BIG ole fat 1 that stretches across my windscreen, but noone seems to hav them nemore :p mind u, i need a mazda to put it on too ;)

and rob!!! :p :p :p !! hello?! i have a l'astina, so of course the astra is allowed to come! we will refrain from trying not to "kick it"....or remind rselves of such canberra '04 events :p :p oh where's the emoticon that has a face about to puke? lol :D

okay guys and girls! so glad to hear the great response, esp. from newbies! love meeting newbies and brain washing them w/ my useless knowledge for hrs ;) lol just j/k. i only do it to the oldies nowdays ;) tehehe looking 4ward to seeing you DAVE & Janet!! i really should do those steak nites again, as i drive thru guildford everyday. ah i'm slack :p

CRUISE TOPIC:
now i'll figure out the general area where every1 lives (when i get a free chance) and then decide on a venue/location to set this cruise. i'm still really keen for a royal national park cruise, as this is still close to syd BUT central for any south-nswales-ers. there's an amazing bushwalk down at bundeena that i did w/ platypus a few yrs bak, that takes you right out onto the heads and the heath area. the views are +++++ so professional photographers, this one would b for you :D

otherwise.......suggest what YOU'D like to do, so i have a rough idea of where ppl are willing to travel to.

i'm also thinking i MAY push the cruise further into late sept/oct now bcos of warmer weather and more predictable sunshine. also i won't be so rushed about w/ work and wedding commitments ;) lol

hmmm fark. the clock says 12.32am. wasn't i sposed to be in bed by 10pm? bugger. will chk bak later.
KEEP THROWING AROUND IDEAS!!! i really NEED to know what types of things you guys like doing ie. picnics/bbq/twisties/long or short drives/full or half day/1 destination or a multitude of them.

tutah for now!
luv Salty Cracks (gotta love Rove eh ;) )

Beau
30-07-2006, 08:41 PM
im willing to go anywhere really..
and just chuck the agt sticker on the laser.. who cares! :D

if i have plenty of notice, ill most likely be available any time too..

Red Frog
31-07-2006, 01:28 AM
tehehe yeah but maybe there's an sp23 in the pipeline sumwhere in the next 12mths..........so that would be okay if i was thinking of at least buying a mazda, rite? ;) lol

sounding kewl guys! when i gets meself organised during the week and miss lastina gets her alignment done 2moro, i will start getting around to preparing more finer details for this cruise. but this wkend has been full of work, baby showers, birthdays and ses courses, so hopefully during the wk i'll hav sum time to work out the cruise!

Hi everyone im bran new so be carefull with me :(

I like the idea of the hunter valley maybe the famous pub out that way called harrigans would be a nice place for a catch up or even one of the vinyards parks near by :)

EddyEdwards
01-08-2006, 08:04 PM
That'd flow well with my Idea.

Red Frog
01-08-2006, 08:17 PM
eh yeah harrigans is OKAY but agt's been there, done that and it's the typical place to go.....there's nicer places in the hunter that are cheaper, like u said one of the vineyards :D and good work for suggesting!! and A BIG MASSIVE HEEELLLO WELCOME to ya :D

u know, the newcastle to sydney via windsor DOES sound very exciting! hmmm i likies! will investigate further into that idea.....

Red Frog
01-08-2006, 08:24 PM
oh oh OHHHHH!! just did a quick look w/ travelmate smarttripper and OMG..........

Brilliant!! (http://www.nowwhereroute.com/travelmate/SmartTrip/mappage.aspx?fromTown=newcastle&toTown=sydney&RouteType=SHORTEST&ViaTown1=pokolbin&ViaTown2=Windsor+NSW)

EddyEdwards
01-08-2006, 08:36 PM
Yeah, theres also an awesome pittstop along the way, its the Halfway house as it's half way between Windsor and Pokolbin (Pokolbin state forest is a nice place, we went hunting there once, but were Hunting declared zones are allocated its all extremely steep cliff hahaha, I enjoyed the four wheel driving though). It's a fairly large petrol station with an awesome restaurant, pricey but that's what you get on the road. around $5 for a hamburger with everything, and I mean EVERYTHING there was a stick through the middle to keep it all together. It was a memorable experience that burger haha.

It's a really really nice scenic drive, Bikies love it out there too for all the twists and turns along some of the way so I imagine the AGTers would love it too, it's very pretty indeed. I'm happy to hear you like the idea Red Frog, I REALLY have to get my P's - I don't think I can fail next week.

EddyEdwards

Beau
01-08-2006, 08:53 PM
heres just a throwaround idea, but i know it wouldnt work out very good for most of you guys, but jervis bay, near nowra, theres an awesome spot down there in the national park. good driving too from what i can remember..

just an idea - feel free and go ahead if ud like to shoot it down:D

Looks like we have a few ideas thrown into the hat so lets get serious about this cruise and what do we want..

A Drive and lunch to suit all members....so lets make it a good day out and have a nice lunch to boot.

Janet and I haven't been upto the Hunter for ages so I would be all for that...

I would love to tagalong on the OMC cruise with some of you guys as it might be fun on a personal note but sadly (cough cough) Janet and I will be holidaying in Singapore.

So lets get our thinking caps on and I will promote this cruise on Ozmazda.com
(ZB's new home) for a great turn out.

As the Mrs ZB's Astina is ready to roll......

Heys Leigh, long time no chat, we need to meet up fpor a coffee and catch up!!!!

Has a definate date been set yet, if not, how is early to mid September (cant do late September, already booked with very important dates, and I sespect you have the same dates and appointments set as well).

Hunter region and Central coast would be an awesome cruise, and I am sure OzMazdaClub would support your cruise in the same fashion as your previous cruise.

If this cruise is as awesome as your last cruise to Berrima, then it's set to be a sensation and I would love to join you guys.

hey guys!

well it looks pretty anonamous from where i'm sitting.

lets choose the weekend of the 21st/22nd of october, so we're looking at roughly 10 weeks away. so that is AGES to get this cruise sorted out and routes organised.

i'm still quite keen w/ the route originally suggested that goes thru the hunter and putty rd, etc etc.

does ne1 hav any objections to either day on this weekend OR the location?

Hey guys! Well I finally got my lazy brain into action and posted a brand new thread with a poll for this cruise!! Please vote for the day you'd prefer to attend. Also please re-post if you are interested on attending the cruise so I can get a good idea of who is coming. And don't forget to keep adding any new ideas of suggestions you have that we might be able to include on the day. I want to hear from everyone and get everyone's ideas and opinions!!

http://www.astinagt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7497

Looking forward to hearing from you all and seeing you all there on the day! I will try my best to bring you the quality, fun and experiences that we had for the January 2006 Berrima cruise :)

This thread will now be closed to prevent any confusion.
Thanks Dan :)
