Hahaha, with all this wet weather, me being me I felt like doing something dumb in my little doorstop. At a stop sign, held the handbrake up, stomped the brake - then floored the accelerator and dropped the brake.

My granny spec auto doorstop actually lost traction and spun like a little bitch. Hell yeah I was so damn proud, then just thought to my self... thats so weak hahahah, it will only spin in the wet.

It was good to smell rubber of the little fella anyway, put a grin on my face :D

I'm yet to see an NA Astina burnout bigger than the one Andy and I did in the mountains where people actually thought there was a bushfire because of it.

There is a video of it too, with 47secs of tyre screech in the distance, and then thick white smoke wofting down into the valley on the approach to there area where we did it. Can even see where I went into second gear for a little bit. :)

I rarely do burnouts

I don't see the point. Astina/Laser Gearboxes are weak enough as it is with out helping them break like that.

I had to do little burnouts with the Lynx when I went to WSID cause of the water on the strip.

other then that I tryed once in my first laser.

done one in a car I was racing to warm the tyres up for a hillclimb.

Not to mention the cost of tyres and the cost of a fine, if on the odd chance, constable plod comes along and sees you doing it. And most Astinas/Lasers don't have LSD, so it looks kinda gay with only 1 wheel spinning

skitz
13-09-2006, 04:09 PM
other than doing a burnout is there any other way to know if u have LSD???

project.r.racing
13-09-2006, 04:17 PM
if you thinking ur car has one, then no it doesn't.

an easy way to tell if you have a lsd or not it to drive on uneven surfaces eg gutters / driveways and if only one wheel spins freely too easily, left side on astinas. then no lsd.

Ripper323

It may be stamped somewhere on the gear box, although I'm not sure if Mazda do that, if you want to find out, drive the car onto a decent sized patch of grass, and get a mate to stand outside the car, and spin the wheels. If only one spins, you don't have LSD. If both start spinning, then you have LSD. Or put one wheel on the grass and the other on the bitumen and try to spin the wheels. If you don't have LSD the wheel on the grass will spin by itself.
I think you can also jack the front wheels up and spin one and if you don't have LSD the other wheel spins in the opposite direction, but if you have LSD I think it spins the same way. Some one will be able to tell you for certain about that method anyway.

skitz
13-09-2006, 04:21 PM
i was told by a mate that u would have to do it on a hard serface not grass or dirt etc because most of the time they would both spin on dirt etc this could be wrong though lol i will try lol

ow and i realy doubt that it has it i was just wondering for sure!!
