Hey guys just wondering if any one on here is a Nokia boffin. I've got a 6280, the slide phone, and at the moment it thinks that it has the headset plugged in all the time and you can't talk on it unless you use loudspeaker.
Does anyone know a way to totally reset the phone, ie not the "restore factory settings" options, really reset it. Any help would be appreciated.

Funnily enough I don't have anything collingwood on the phone. *shock* I've emailed Nokia Australia as well, hopefully they can come up with something positive. I am with 3 actually, I might give them a ring as well.

How old is the phone? Is it still under warranty?
I'm with 3 as well :( .. you'll need to have all your paper work (purchase receipt, warranty etc) and a paper trail off all your contact with 3 and or Nokia otherwise they'll charge you a bunch to repair it.
Good Luck!

zoom zoom thats not true, everytime ive had to go down ive just said its underwaranty, phone number is blah blah blah and my security number is BLAH! and they go ok well just go verify that and they come back 5mins later sayin ok we can send this away to get fixed free of charge. the 6280 is well under 1 year old.

Definately a warranty job. Only some Nokia's tend to do this that I've seen. Usually it's because the design uses tracks on the board that are too close together, it only takes a bit of dirt to get inside and sit in the wrong place to join 2 of the tracks and voila the phone thinks it has a headset attached. From memory only one model did this because of software and that would have to have been at least 3 years ago.

ok the new nokia well 6280 is a 3rd Gen phone, which are absolute crap. they have all the anoyin issues, its like they are built in a different factory than other nokias. i only got the nokia cause ive never had issues with them in my life before, and now i have issues with this one. :(

I have had a 6280 for ages now and never had a problem with it although i have had nokia problems in the past.
Id definatley take it back. I had headset troubles n what not with my last nokia n took it back n got it replaced. Where did u get it from?
I even tried pluggin in my headst and playing round with some of the settings but yeh i reckon u better take it back hahah
i have troubles with the camera...
like ill press the button, itd hang for a lil bit then say "Operation Failed" and ill have to try a couple more times before it works again..
and every now and then, after someone sends me a "PXT" (Vodaphone picture message), my phone will glitch, go all white, and restart after i close the message??!

I doubt you need to go in and get "pissed off" with the staff, as if they give a toss if it costs the company a phone, your far more likely to get good service if you ask nicely.
Of course, if that fails, crack it.
