Synthetic Leather 'Sport' seats come in Red, White or Black with the Grey MS centre. White and Black most common.
'Type-F' Suede ones come in Navy Blue, Black, Red or Grey. Black most common.
Rails are built-in to the seat - and therefore they are a universal rail - but there are car-specific brackets that attach to each corner of the rails.
They are now unavailable new, as they (along with many older MS parts) have been discontinued.
Secondhand ones will appear below, and generally sell for about 15000-40000 per seat, or 40000-80000 a pair (depending on condition of course)

People been checkin' out your MS seat install thread then pop over here for a look hehe.
That 30000yen, black seat(s) auction, how much to land that here in NZ?

C'mon people, click the link. i can't do all the work for you....this means you, Kyle :P
But in this case, only one pictured of the Black Type F, so only one seat.
current bid is 30000, buy it now is 45000. 23 hours left.
based on a 35000 sell price, it'd be about $740 landed in Aus, and at a guess +100 to ship to NZ.
You'd be better off buying the 60000yen pair of black Sport ones higher up the thread, IMO. Only one lot of fees/shipping etc then, and would be under $1300 for the pair.

Just a quick question about these seats to satisfy my own curiosity (not in the market myself, maybe in the future if I start prettying up the ol' 323).
Do any/all of these seats suit a 2-door (eg. the drivers backrest in my 323 flips forward and the passengers backrest flips forward and slides the base forward in the one motion)?
Rupewrecht

They all flip forward via the lever on the side, but don't slide forward as well. At least not with my BA application.

Flip forward only, the rail kits do not have the provision to slide either.

I was wrong actually, the go a ridiculously long way forward, but you have to hold the adjusting arm up. So they'd be fine for a hatch.

Oh for what it's worth - my size person doesn't fit well in the the seats, the thigh bolsters need to be spread to make them seats useable. Slimmer people would be fine though.

I've sat in the MS seats and I like them. Problem I found was that the MS rails mimic the JDM rails so they sit the seats much further forward than ADM and don't go back as far.

It wouldn't take too much effort. The rails on each MS seat are identical, but there's little brackets that go on each corner of the rail that are different for each car. Lantis/Astina one are pretty rare, but they wouldn't be that hard to get someone to fabricate some - it's just 3 or 4mm bent steel. Getting them new is virtually impossible though.

You can remove the raill from you standard seats...but i'm honestly not sure if they're interchangeable with the MS ones - i've never needed to try.
You'll be in this situation for any aftermarket seats you buy, as few make rails to fit a BA. At least i've got some mounts i can send you diagrams of.

lol - Babelfish comes up with some strange stuff:
"The driver's seat for the Matsuda speed sport seat type F2 leg roadster, it is the bracket attachment for the suicide seat."
How much for these suicide seats landed as a matter of interest? Can these be fitted into a BA and what material is it do you know?
Suicide seat = passenger ;)
They can be fitted to a BA, but you'd need to buy/make BA brackets to fit to the universal MS rails. They're suede. And about $1280 for that pair landed.

I love mine. I used to get a sore lower back with the standard BA seats, but these are very comfortable on long drives. Quite grippy/supportive...but you can't have wide childbearing hips!
Skitz and Nate (not Hairy Nate) also have them, and only have good feedback about them afaik.
Don't forget i've got one of those in stock (and another one coming this container) and the black Sports as well.

Yeah, the levers are for 2 door cars - move them forward, push the headrest forwards and the top half of the seat flips forward. It's a quick-tilt function.
They look cool with the harnesses!

Usually the average sell price is 40000-70000 - mostly depending on condition.
A pair @ 40000 would be $900 landed. 50000 = $1050, 60000 = $1200, 70000 = $1350. That's with the exchange rate hovering around the 100yen = $1 mark.

Eventually, I hope to reduce the amount of my wife's makeup smeared on the passenger window and the headbutting my left shouder by installing more supportive seats. She's pretty small at 52kg and I'm tall and skinny. WRX seats feel perfect for me. Do you think Type F would be suitable? Are there brackets available for a BJII? I suppose the cost of getting them to Cairns would be scary.

The Mazdaspeed seats are a little more supportive than WRX seats. They suit a smaller frame i guess, but it really depends on how wide your hips are. They're not quite as tight as Recaro SR3s.
I've never seen brackets for the BJ, and sourcing some for BJ isn't possible now that the seats have been discontinued. But they could easily be fabricated as they're a pretty simple design, or it may be possible to adapt part of your existing rail.
I've shipped some to Nate in QLD before for around $120, if memory serves correctly.

I can, but they have to be disassembled (no big deal) and shipped singly due to size restrictions. A rough cost for shipping (on top of the cost of buying/fees/etc ) would be AUD$750 for airmail or $350 for seamail to Portugal.
For the white Sports pair on the previous page, the cost landed would be AUD$2130, plus your choice of shipping.
Welcome to AGT, too!

Thanks for the quick reply! The price is a little high for me. That tag price of AUD$2130 doesn't include the taxes i will have to pay here in Portugal. We have to pay a specific tax for everything that comes from out of the European Union. Maybe in a year or so i'll have that kind of cash... Thank you for your time anyway.
Take care

You can't get these new anymore - they were discontinued last year. So your only chance is off the auctions that i list (unless you find them elsewhere).

Dan, for future reference, are the fittings on the seat transferable from side to side? As single seats seem to be more common than pairs.

Synthetic leather on the Sports seats, synthetic suede on the Type-F
I don't find the white hard to keep clean, but i do have to clean them regularly.
the rails dont come with these do they...
only just found this as i was digging around the forum, they are a piece of cake to fit in the BG astina, the inside rails bolt straight onto the stock rail, the outside rails require a 20 mm spacer (i used 20mm steel box section) the only thing about that method is it leaves you with two sets of rails (the factory ones on the floor and the ones that are part of the ms seat), which you cant get mod plated. the good news is i am currently having a set of proper rails made up which will be mod plate friendly, and i should be able to get anyone else a set if they are keen, price will be about $100 per side, plus a set of donor stock rails.

You can't get the brackets new anymore, but that one does actually have drivers brackets for an NA6.
The Type-F Black/Grey mesh are pretty rare as they're more recent (so less years made, so less common) - mostly they were from RX8s
..so if you see one and want it, you should grab it!

Yes and no. The seats have integral rails, but for each car you need a set of brackets that fit to each corner of the rails.
I am getting some Mazda AZ-3/Eunos 30X ones duplicated from the originals soon, which should fit BG Astina as well.

Hi Dan. Do you know how many different variations exist for the Type-F seat? Some sport the MS logo on the headrest whilst others have the Mazdaspeed logo instead. Then there are those that use mesh type cushioning in the centre and others the normal suede with or without the Mazdaspeed logo.
I assume the Sports seat comes in just the Red, White and Black flavours, no variation there.
Also, do you have a preference for feel of the Sports vs Type-F? Does the synthetic leather of the Sports version burn your elbows and outer thighs on blistering hot days? :p

As far as i know it's like this for Type-F:
- black suede/black suede
- navy blue suede/navy blue suede
- grey suede/grey suede
- red suede/red suede
- black suede/grey mesh
- red suede/red mesh
- navy blue suede/navy blue mesh
- black suede/black mesh
The Sports were released in 1996 in the 3 colors, the black suede Type-F came out in 1997, the Type-T in 1999, the red suede/mesh Type-F in 2002, the grey suede Type-F in 2003, and the blue suede/mesh in 2004. I'm sure i remember seeing all suede versions of the red one though.
The logos on the headrest seem to be a bit random though - i can only guess it's different years of production. The later Sports don't seem to have the headrest logo, and one of the black Type-Fs i've got has never had any logos on it.
I've never had a Type-F in my car, but i've never had any burning issues with the Sports in my car in summer (and i don't have aircon). The mesh in the middle helps them breathe just enough. I wouldn't want all all-synthetic seat in summer though! I prefer the look of the Sports so i'll put up with a bit more heat ;)

won't have a hope in hell of fitting you, as they're only for NA MX-5 and AZ-1. They're smaller physically than the Sports/Type-Fs
The bigger Sparco-ish fibreglass buckets might, but i've never had one of those in stock to know for sure.
The Sports and Type-Fs are your best bet, as the base bolsters can be bent outwards for those with childbearing hips ;)

Pairs: never. There's usually one for sale at any time, but condition caries quite wildly. Good ones are generally 10-20000yen.
I do have a pretty mint one in stock:
