Don't quote me but i think Jaycar do a kit for this....

Jaycar did have a kit, however I've heard several reports of it being very difficult to get the ratio tuned correctly (It uses analog tuning not digital). Otherwise once its tuned it can work quite well. Only problem is that I've just had a hunt through the last catalog and the website and could not find it.

signal amp - wouldn't be too hard to get it right. just gotta know the correct ratio between new and old.

i was looking at one of these kits when i had the 17s fitted as 215/45 is 30mm (5%)bigger than stock. but the 215/35R18s are only 12mm (2%) bigger so i never bothered.

a article on this DIY kits was in a HPI mag about 4/5/6 months ago.

Not a signal amp, but a frequency multiplier/divider. The rest is right tho...

Found out why, there is a new model: KC-5435. The only thing is it will only work with an ECU provided signal. Is the tacho in the BA driven from the ECU? If so then this kit would do the job. Selling for AUD $49.95.

Just buy a V6 cluster and move your speedo over to it to keep your mileage. Simple.

much easier to get the right cluster
Yes the tacho is driven from the ECU :)

stupid question - but aren't I4 and V6 clusters just the same? it's oly the signal/pulse from the ecu that's different?

Historicly they are different.
I'd buy the right cluster with a low milage or visit a guage repair shop and have the Tach re-calibrated. Mazda tachs are optomistic from the factory
