yer perhaps but without the ridiculus whale wing at the back.. i mean who killed free willy??? does it even add downforce at the speeds astinas go at :p... dont get me wrong the car looks great just never was a fan of that spoiler.

i dont like the mazdaspeed wing either, but it does create alot of downforce above 120kph. great in a light car due to no weight being in the rear of FWD cars.

That would actually create more downforce in the rear at 80kph (around 120kg downforce)
Take it to a track and she would be a bit unstable for my liking
Pretty colours though

I've always liked that red one, apart from the tribal graphics...and the ride height.

If you want seats like that, the closest thing are the seats in the Ford Probe (with the unfortunate monogram on them and all...).

29-11-2006, 03:57 PM

bourbon
29-11-2006, 04:17 PM
you might only need to swap rails, but if they dont line up youll need to add brackets probs welding...but yeah ive never done it myself...

skitz
29-11-2006, 04:19 PM
owww sounds like fun so u think we could get some pics of these fto seats?

skitz
29-11-2006, 04:24 PM
have a look u know i think u might be right they are fto seats but the rx8 ones look cool too

but still the fto ones will match my internals more!

it will cost u a fortune to have spacers made up to suit. the BA rails are very uneven and theres no telling what the undersides of the FTO seats are like as theyre FWD too. my recaros had dead flat bases and even then it was a nightmare.

bourbon
29-11-2006, 04:57 PM
ill get a pic of the under rails as well for ya mate!

skitz
29-11-2006, 05:02 PM
yeah pop them up here so every one can have a look and see wheather it is an easy thing or hard thing u think they will be any more sporty than what we got stock? like they do look better but what u think?

ps sorry for fully hijacking this thread!

when i was speaking to mike-D last he reckoned it lifted the back of the car up forcing the nose down.

with regards to seats basicly to do seat spacers properley you need one of these and a fair clue about whats going on.

Yeh this is Rich Hardesty from the UK.. Many of us on here have seen this car evolve to what you see here.. It's got some pretty wild customisations on interior and exterior.. Rich is a top bloke and regularly keeps me updated on what's going on with "Daisy" [ i think he calls it ].. I have some other high-res images of this astina..

Bad boy bonnet and parachute for a rear spoiler
Throw your aerodynamics out the window
Wont help handling
And if the Mazdaspeed wing really does lift the rear then thats worse (Must be due to the lack of side support allowing airflow to be sucked in from the sides and then up and under the ironing board

It always makes me laugh at the amount of cars you see at the track with big ass body kits that now have less than optimum aerodynamic stability
There are very very few kits on the market which actually assist the handling of a car 99% of the time it has the exact opposite

That bonnet changes the whole look of the car.
You'd have to look twice to see that it's an astina!
Very creative and unique though.

We need to get air into the engine bay on the Lynx, or get the hot air out.
I was thinking of how people put the spacers on the rear mounts to lift the back part of the bonnet up a little and have a vent for all the hot air.
If we could get a second bonnet to play with, it would be good to cut some subtle airflow design ideas, but body parts for a lynx are hard work unfortunately.

Did Aaron remove the rear weatherstrip on the back edge of the bonnet like i told him to? You'll drop 5 degrees just from that.

Didn't know anything about that, hmmmmmm
It would do the same thing as lifting the back edge of the bonnet, without making it look stoopid!

Depends on the plenum design. For example EF falcons dont seem to get an increase in air temp. Who knows how the lynx will do....
