Plan on keeping my astina for a long time so i wont mind spending a bit of money on it.
I want to lower my 323 because it does looks like a 4x4 (even worse with 16's) and also for improved zoom zoom factor. I have also found a lot of postive feedback about swaybars. I have found suspension kits to be costing around 2K for all the bits and pieces.
Are they really worth the money?
OR should i be happy with spending $450 to lower my 323 and $180 on rear swaybar and $xx on front anti-roll bar thingy?
What should I go for?

If you're keeping it for a long time buy the full package. I got springs only and ride is a bit too choppy over bumps. Not that I mind, as the look, although still not that low, and the handling are both improved. But if i was planning on keeping it longer and drove it more than my current 10000 kms per year, id definately do the full kit.

Springs are dependant on brand and drop. Your looking at about $150/pair for whiteline springs with a 40-50mm drop.

Rear sway is $150 odd and the front strut brace is $175ish.

Can prob get away with it for <1K installed. You wouldnt need much more then this for a stock car, maybe think about upgrading the shocks later if you need to.

What Jynx has listed is exactly what I have just bought from Whiteline..

Flatout Springs [40-50mm drop]
Front Strut Brace
Rear sway

All of this for a pultry $650ish....and about $150 to get it installed...although you could possibly do the strut brace and rear sway yourself..

Thanks guys. Whiteline was what I was looking at too. Seems to be pretty popular so looks like I'll steer towards the package as I've had my car almost 4 months and clocked up 11,000km already. Due mostly to travelling to work. I'll probably get it done in a month or two depends on how much I have to pay John back at tax time (howard)

Yeah im about to buy a heap of **** from whiteline 2. The strut and sway are easy to fit. Springs can be done by yourself but if your not sure, then pay someone that way you have someone to blame if something goes wrong.

Goodio.. be warned though, they may take a while. I have an ETA on my front springs of roughly 15th of July  I'm going email and see if I can get them sooner though, I've got itchy feet to get it all in!

This from autospeed or whiteline directly?

Whiteline are about 45mins from my place so I can always drive over and pick them up if necessary :)

The Cosmo has had heavy duty springs for the last two years. I have had the shocks re-built with shorter stroke and the springs re-manurfactured to suit.
Result, one low HB Cosmo with very little roll and very predictable handling. The drive home, I have a phat that a cat couldn't scratch :D :D  :D  :D :D :D :P

I was looking at autospeed. The whiteline website didn't tell me much.

hehe Cosmo  lol

I'll be getting someone else to do though this way I can blame someone else and I don't have to stress if I make a Boo Boo

Auto speed just got back to me (took 'em long enough)
No kits for my mazda :( . Looks like I'll have to just go for the parts. Think I'll get it dropped locally and order a rear sway bar and front strut brace. Suggest any other bits??

You drive an Astina and live in Australia, do the research and put it all together.
If you wanted ready made mods you need a Falcodore, Honda or WRX.
Best thing about the Astina is its a great base and you need to become inventive :D

Joely,
Confused about you saying no kit for the Astina ??
Are you just saying Autospeed dont sell a kit.

Have a look at these for part numbers

Sorry for being a dick guys  ,

Reading that article made me go for a kit in the first place. So I looked around for a whiteline kit couldn't get into the whiteline website that day so I looked in autospeed, couldn't find one so I emailed them. Their reply told me there was nothing for my mazda which made me confused as I had seen that article.

Don't know why I couldn't get in then but its OK now.
Must have F*#ked up with the address or something

Nah, apparently they're out of stock! Maybe they let certain lines run dry for stocktake.. I emailled Wayne Cunningham at whiteline today to see if I can get them soon than the 15th.. He hasn't got back to me yet though. I will let you know what he replies with..

There has never been a "kit" as such from Whiteline to suit our cars, only the familiars. The article lists all the parts used which is basically all the other "kits" are. I think the price of the kit is even the same if you add up purchasing the stuff seperatley.
