"All my HARD WORK, BLOOD, SWEAT, and TEARS into this project...now it all has came to an end. There's not much of an explanation for this, but I guess it all happens for a reason. I never expected this to happen. After I have gotten everything to run just perfect and look at its show standards, the only thing I truly love all goes into flames...suffering and literly balling and crying watching my pride and joy just burn. I tell myself "What did I do?" and "Why do I deserve this?" after over $80,000 of non stop investing it's all gone. I have no idea what caused this, but i do know that God didn't want me to own this car anymore. Everyone is probably going to ask me the same thing and say "Were u racing?" well yess and no... Me and Victor (Owner of JDMAutoHaus) were on our way to the shop following one another and he was in his Red NSX...we both decided to be jerks and race eachother and that was the last of it...As I came to a stop at the red light Victor says he witnissed something ignite in my engine bay and then BOOM! There she went...fire starting in my engine compartment, I had time to make it out before the rest of the car went to burn. All I can do is sit there and watch the car just burn away tearing and thinking in my head that I should burn dead with the car. It just makes the matter worse to just sit here and dwell on it and it was a big learning experience...Now it's time to move on to bigger and better things...For all the Subie owners out there...I'm sorry U have to see this, but now I am letting everyone see what they have been hearing...Farewell to my Golden Lady...*RIP* =( "

Its sad as i've been there
is why I carry a fire extinguisher.
but from the look of things I only glimsed seemed typical of american sport compact.
Reason is last time I was there and it's not uncomon. but the amount of use of extra injectors engine bay surgetanks and fuel pumps is amazing. Not so much in late models like this mind you I see alot of extra lines probelry not needed.
You might say no need too but the main thing is to learn from mistakes espeicially others.
I had similar with a mates Et ages ago but we got it we use to always carry 5L of water and it did the trick. Because soon as we pulled the key it cut fuel pump ( yeah I know pre turbo timer days but even that quick to turn off.
Threw the water on the engine and it stopped the fire.
Had hose on Big 8 off the carby leak started a fire - fire extinguisher again soon as power cut the electric pump only 5-7psi again no more fuel you can stop it.
Like I said alot of extra fuel lines not required if you ask me. Only because even in friends 550HP at the wheel WRX from V&C performance it only has an extra line to stop no4 cylinder leaning out.
Fire Extinguisher a must have in your car even HSV had them from factory for a reason ( probelry holden build quality )

If you spend $80k on a car and dont spend $20 on an extinguisher then you are just asking for trouble

thats all true, but from the description the hood came up with the fire, so the fire was well and truly fanned

Under hood temps, same reason new rav 4's have one, and they're certainly not intercooled...
