I thought i saw something on this before, but searching led to nothing. Its driving me nuts.

When you're removing the factory rear spoiler, I rip off the inside plastic to get at the middle screws right?

And after its off.. how do i go about plugging the holes?

If yours is the 4cyl version it probably will only have a few screws on each side of the spoiler which wont need any plastic removal :P
If its the v6 model then that plastic panel on the hatch will have to be removed to get tthe middle bolt out if there is a middle bolt

Mine's a 1.8L..

I took off the side screws today and then tried to lift off the spoiler to no avail. I guess I have to rip the plastic off. Always get a bad feeling popping out plastic..

and what about the holes after removal?

If you have the bolt in the middle and plan to leave it off you'll have to get it welded up :(
I have the 1.8L and only had 2 screws on each side, ive had mine off for weeks now,but because i have the holes only on the side the rainwater doesnt go into my boot, cause the screw holes are on the outside of the boot seal

never done it. But I have ripped off LOTS of plastic from mine and other cars before. be gentle at first, life up the bits u can and shine a torch under there to look for more clips / screws. Some of tbe screws in the astina are plastic, with a flat circle flap on top. they can be removed by prying up from top flap.

Keep a watch out for the plastic going white where its under stress tho !

and just try to slowly pull from nearest where u feel the trim is still held down.

other than that, cant help!

Only thing I can see in the Manual is that there are three holes each side and two in the centre. There are a collection of clips and nuts to be removed (eight in total).

Good luck,
