View Full Version : Light reading
Hi ppls,
I've recently got my hands on both mazda workshop manuals for the BA 323. Also, the complete wiring diagrams ( complete with cut-aways to show where the wires/components actually are ! ) and the complete overhaul manual for the v6 engine.
No Im not going to scan it all coz they're HUGE
BUT I am happy to look things up for ppl. Go ahead and ask away :) I'll try to get an answer as soon as i can. Im keep to use these as much as possible to get my $$ worth.
I may scan pages if ur after something in particular.
They outline pretty much the entire car in detail, from every clip & screw on the trim, to the complex details of the engine.
Would love a scan of the pages outlining the ecu and fuel setups. Tony is a bit buzy at the moment so if you got time would be great.

I dont actually need anything, but if you do scan any for others can you you pass them on :-)
The bits on replacing the front wheel bearings would be real handy if there is any!
Wheel Bearing Replacement (http://www.astinagt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1005)
i'll be collecting anything I scan and putting it online. no worries there.
I had a look last night and theres quite a lot involving the ECU and fuel setup. Is there something in particular you want ? Was it the wiring diagram you wanted or something else ...
im pretty sure there is info on the wheel bearing replacement. I'll see what I can drag out tonight :)
Oh, and for those interested in the the 2.5 v6 upgrade, the v6 manual covers the KF and the KL models. I havnt yet worked out if it'll tell me if the KL will fit, but it does say how to take it all apart and get it back in!
And the protege is in there too. Called the 323 Sedan.
One more thing, the answer to the centre channel speaker is YES it attaches to the stereo. The stereo wiring diagram already online doesnt have it, but it connects to the stereo via a 'Centre Channel Amplifier' which piggybacks onto the speaker wires coming out from the stereo. ( which is why I've never seen centre channel wires connecting to the stock HU ) From the pictures it looks as tho that amp sits under or near the stock HU location. maybe near the ECU.
There should be three wiring diagrams and three other pages which explain what each pin on the ecu is for. Those would be great. Dont need the ones which show you where everything is.
Cheers

if you cud scan me a wiring diagram that involves some circuitry of the interior light, that would be great
i buggered it up somehow and now it wont work!
cheers

hm.. the center speaker never worked for me..... so how do i open that bit up to check?
so, does that manuel have hardtops as well? since the 'sedan' has been taken by the protege.
and what r those sockets in the center console really for? the ones mentioned in another thread. http://www.astinagt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=992
sorry if theres a delay getting some of these pages, I need to get a chance to use the flatbed scanner at work without ppl seeing im not working !! At home I just use the sheet-fed scanner in my fax machine.
interior light should be no problem :) r u referring to the one in the ceiling ?
Yes it has hardtops too. It covers the sedan, hatch and hardtop.
I havnt yet worked out what the plugs are for. Theres so much in there its kinda hard to find stuff unless u know what ur looking for.
I think i'll put up the details for the full dismantle of the dash. That should cover getting to the centre speaker
I did find a funny thing tho ... theres a whole page telling u how to hook the string from the hatch shelf onto the little hooks on the hatch bootlid !! with pictures and everything ! is any1 interested in THAT page ?

How much wuz it? Where did you get it? I rang up Mazda and they always send me to Bookworks
I try to compensate by looking at the MX3 website www.mazdamaniac.com cause the guy put up the workshop manual for the MX3.
Apart from the engine size 1.8 vs 2.0, I wonder if the workshop manual for the BA astina would be hugely different
