i reckon the NGK Iridium is the best of all
they cost around $18 each

Ive used the bosch super 4's b4 in my engine, they made a difference, but also made my car idle rough :?
So i purchased the NGK irridium IX plugs which i am now using, they are also good, and never need cleaning, cause of the material the plug is made from(doesnt allow carbon to build up) but this comes at a hefty price

I must admit I just run the standard NGK V-Groove plug which I get
for around $2.50 and just change them often eg every 4 or so months.
All the dyno readings I have seen about the platinums haven't shown
any power increase so why not spend $10 on plugs instead of $100
Regards
Mal
Its even more expensive when you have to buy six of the little buggers!
Seriously though, I think replacing them regularly will give you more benefit in the long run than putting it off for another month until you can spend the extra $80-$90 on some spark plugs.

well NGK irridium plugs will only be arriving in South Africa in 2 months time so I guess Ill have to be patient .... sucks lol :? :D
Hey! i use the NGK iridium plugs! Yes they are expensive! but if you only have to change them every 100k Then its cheap! + your not wearing the thread out in ur soft alloy head!
Uz can also index all the plugs (Facing the outer electrode opening towards both the inlet valves) NOT the other way around!
U do this by marking the top of the plug with a fine permanent pen, then tightening the plug to the correct position! If its to loose or to tight washers can be bought to get it right! This does work! u will get about 1-3kw Not much i know, but every little bit adds up!
Oh yeah! if you Know the right people u can get the plugs for $13each!

so which way should the plugs' open end face in BJ, towards the front or the back??
The open face of the plug should face the inlet valves or the maniflod! this would be towards the back of the car man!

The iridiums dont work as well as the copper ones do...
Dyno readings have proved it... Just you have to change copper ones more often. My friend with a seriously fast GTiR only runs copper plugs cause iridiums dont do the engine justice

Every motor is different Tony, they work well in some, and not so well in others

Well people with Japanese ECU's which require you to ocassionally run Octane booster to up the RON when you get **** fuel. Iridium's still foul up when you use octane booster... thats how ppl put holes in your pistons...
I have seen two engine **** up cause someone used Octane booster and didnt change the plugs often enough.
Big boys dont use iridiums... you wouldnt really need to worry on a Australian spec ECU.
Oh yeah when NGK say that the iridium is better than a standard plug they are reffering to the standard run of the mill plug. NGK "R"'s are the good plugs

ezin the inlet valve is towards the back but the manifold is towards the front isn't it (correct me if i was wrong)
if so which way should the open gap face?
Plain old NGK-R plugs work fine for me, I just change them every few oil changes. I agree with Mals thinking, $10 rather than $100...even though the platinum ones do last longer...
