LOL.. nah didn't take my car but there were plenty of them over there anyway so i didn't really miss my old girl.. I even took pics of a nice example similar to mine in Taupo when i was there..
I was, however, truely amazed at the variety of different cars over there.. Subaru being the main contender in peoples garages, but just the vastness of different models on the roads. Things like the Toyota Caldina's [the turbos look the best] and 3rd GEN Subaru Legacy GT wagons [which we didn't get here, same as the Liberty B4] had my attention, along with other more obscure looking things.. [Ford Escorts, some Diahatsu thing i need to investigate, yada yada yada].. I saw more 4 door skylines than 2 door ones i have to admit.. But i was also amazed at how much "damage" there were to cars driving around. Scuffs, scrapes, dents, missing body parts.. And i was astonished at how cheap the used car market is over there. The imports must really screw the used car sector over there.
Bloody lovely country. Would live there in a heart beat!

1. It is pronouced Soobahhhhhhhroo over there! :p
2. You're gonna see alot of AWDs there because of ice and snow.
3. Youre gonna see alot of damage there because of ice and snow.
4. They don't manufacture cars, so all their cars are imports. Where our local new car industry is regulated with tarrifs and stuffage so we have heavy restrictions on imports to protect the local car industry... It also means the price of our cheaply made Holdens, Fords and Mitsu's are blown up alot. Not that it helps Mitsubishi... :p
Piccies? ;)

Nah cars are pretty easy to sell over here. Imports are cheap as chips too. And there's scuffs on everyones cars because of all the **** drivers.
Quick example: yesterday I was merging and a guy in a Jeep decided he didn't want to go behind me (even though I was meant to be in front) so what does he do... continues to drive beside me, despite me holding my hand on the horn button for a good 10 seconds and half of his truck being in the on coming lane. He wouldn't give up, I had to drop back. He then proceeded to change lanes recklessly without indicating.

Sounds exactly like Sydney. Not much difference. Well, except for the fact that we speak English.

Well that would certainly explain why they didn't stamp the passport. I want to go back and live there.

Aaron and I are planning our Honeymoon for May
(Dorrigo comes first!)
We were thinking about New Zealand as an option.
Do you NEED a passport to go to NZ?
The other option is to fly to Adelaide and catch the Ghan to Alice Springs and Darwin, then home via QLD.
I would love to know more about your New Zealand experiences Adam :)

Yeh you definately need a passport [even just to get out of our country girt by sea].. I think i had to present my passport at least 6 times through security checkpoints. I don't think i look that shifty. I mean, granted if i looked like pr1mo i could understand, but sheesh!
Seriously though, you won't be disappointed with NZ. We stayed at backpackers the whole time and it's far better than staying at a hotel. You get to share and experiance other peoples travels and get some awesome recommendations on activities and places to go. Queenstown is a great Alpine region town, especially if you haven't bungied before. I'll be posting the video of the bungy a bit later on.
Cheers
