hey guys, the cruise to INVERLOCH via LEONGATHA is back on the cards.
possible dates to concider
Sunday the 23rd of November
Saturday the 29th of November
Sunday the 7th a December
lemme know what you guys think!!
we will have a set date in 3 days make your vote count!!!
sounds good.
I might just throw up a suggestion that we have a pre-meet for those that dont in the outer east
Im going to plan to come on this cruise, might drag a few of the boyz with me.
ROADTRIP
Wooow... Cranburne! ok, I'm guessing we will be departing very early, as Inverloch is almost a 2 hour drive from the city... that's a bit of driving.
I'm loving the Saturday cruises... get a cruise map up soon Mikey.
All the people who did not make it to the lorne cruise, get into this cruise... we need some BJ astina's there!

what about a pre-meet at the burvale? seems like a good spot for one.
is that any closer than cranbourne ??!
pr1mo
16-07-2003, 02:29 PM
cranbourne is at the end of the M1 freeway. probarbly the best thing todo is travel down the M1 until you get to the first big roundabout. at that point turn left (onto thompsons road) until u reach the first big intersection. at that point turn right and follow into cranbourne. oh and cranbourne is on the way to inverloch! :P cranbourne also works well for those of us already down that end of town i.e. rod, ezin and myself as well as people like dogo and :jear: who arent out east either.
adam and any sydney/canberra folk have first dibbs on accom in cranbourne
cheers mike
Ill prob bring the woman so she'll want some ritzy hotel in Melb.... sigh.

first post updated with fresh infos!
is this shopping centre the one on the corner of sth gippy hwy and thompsons rd? where safeway is and the other side if bunnings and la porchetta?
also, if we are travelling down sth gippy to leongatha, would we not be making a right hand turn heading down to the beach instead of inland?? please correct me if i am wrong... i will most likely be in for this cruise... at least it is a saturday!!
A suggestion if I may.
I believe the planned w/e is a long w/e? Correct me if im wrong.
Perhaps a Sunday would be best as myself and whoever else comes from NSW can drive down fri nite, arrive sat, cruise sun and leave sun nite for return on monday.
Thoughts?

I would actually love to be there for that one but I am already organising another event here in Canberra for that long weekend!!!!!!!
Dammit!!!!
If it was any other weekend?????
I know that sounds wanky, sorry. I really want to meet the rest of you guys, and an official AstinaGT meet sounds like a go, there is just no middle ground I guess, and what about poor SuperGirl???
From QLD to VIC on what isn't a long weekend for her?
We can't neglect our QLD contingent can we?
I know it is hard to please all of the people all of the time.
Enter locations of all active members interested in a meet and spatially coordinate the middle location.
And then freak out some country town in the middle of no where.....
Imagine turning up at Cootamundra or something and staying at the local pubs bed and breakfast?
*pisses self laughing*
sorry!
If we have SA, VIC, ACT, NSW and QLD members, then a centre spot is prolly..... er..... somewhere west of Broken Hill????
OK was a bad idea
will shut up now
But in all seriousness, I would have loved to come to this meet and it's just unfortunate that I am organiser for the NetNic here in Canberra on that same long weekend and we have people travelling from Brisbane, Perth, New Zealand etc to participate.

And will SehnKhan be there? Will things be done to his car enabling a cruise experience? Will there be a body bland or a body changed? Will there be audio explosion or just the sounds of my mind working overtime?
Oh, I will be there, just in what shape or form is yet to be determined. To be continued . . .

I don't remember the last event that you organised. Cruises don't just happen, they need someone to organise them and people to turn up without cancelling at the last minute. You should be aware of your sisters 21st or cousins wedding more than one week in advance.
If you feel so strongly then get off your ass and organise something yourself.

Heh.. I think he was just playing around there Rod..
Anyways... it has to be somewhere a bit central i guess.. I always like St Kilda on a sunny day.. not sure what there is to do around there.. Like I mentioned before it would be good to get to a Go-karting place.. I did actually spot a go-karting centre on the last cruise that we went on to Lorne.. If I remember correctly it is between Geelong and Torquay.. somewhere down there, but I guess it's kinda going to the same place again. I'll think of some other ideas in the course of the next few days... see what I come up with.

An idea,
Philip island on the 29th or 30th of November.
PIARC is holding Island Magic race meet.
Sports sedans, Formula Vee, HQ Holdens, Sports cars & MG's, Formula Ford, Improved Production, Porsche 944, Historic Touring cars and Saloon cars.
Tickets are $10 each for spectators. http://www.piarc.com.au/IMticketoffer.pdf
A good drive with something to do at the end of it, park as a group somewhere near the loop and have a day at the races.
Just an idea.

I like the Philip Island idea.. That would be great! I could even swipe the DVD handycam from work! :D
AP
and the Keg across the road
u got injured at the Keg ?? :D
phillip island with something to do sounds ok. I dont know that I'd drive alll that way just to turn around and come back home, so the Island Magic race meet sounds good.

hahahaha oops
nah i suggested phillip island...
i was still on page 8, =P was replying to the maze post by mike =P
Yeah, the island sounds good lads. I agree with Rod, will be entertaining if we can incorporate watching some track racing too.
No, didn't injure myself at the Keg, it was in referrence to RIP!!
the only problem would be to loong drive out there, and the traffic would be heavy i imagine from other ppl going to the same thing. A cruise wouldnt be as fun if we're sitting in heavy traffic the whole way there and back
otherwise, sounds good !

dave it isnt like a V8 supercar or motoGP meet so i imagine that the traffic wouldnt be anywhere near as bad (cosmic rod may confirm.) we can still do the scenic route there via leongatha tho could be a gooer.
what time does this start rod? we need timmmmezzzz! heheh
cheers mike

At a guess, can't find exact info, there will be something on from 10:30ish until 4-5pm.
The day is popular in the racing fraternity (hence the $10 entry) but not like a ($40 ticket) V8 supercar race. Guess we'll find out on the day. You could always take your partner, stay for diner and watch the penguin parade later in the evening. :P
