That's another opportunity to add a Mexican's comment!

D'oh!! Of course... I'll have to get Dan to use his "moderator" skills to add another option.. Only MODS can change polls once someone has voted on it..
Dan...please do the honours and add "That other football game - Rugby Union" to the list.. There's one last spot for it to go! :D
Adam

Well my Uncle (Mario Bortolotto) played for Calton in the 1981 and 1982 grand finals so Family Loyalty brings me to barrack for Calton.
But I would have picked soccer otherwise cause that requires the most skill rather than a bunch of lanky fairies attempting to tackle each other
Football = Soccer
Rugby = Rugby Union
Tackle = Hard head on hit (Not a push or grab some poof around the waist)
Meh AFL is for panzys...
Rugby all the way.... used to play abit of soccer when I was young and nimble so either rugby or soccer...
Went off League when the Super League crap broke out, otherwise I was a Sharks fan... man they have played ****house since Johnny Lang left.

There is only one choice a true blue KIWI could make, but you didn't list the ALL BLACKS!!!
Don't you have enough space for that many votes?
mrpayner

Sorry, I had to ask one of the moderators to even allow that many options!!

This thread just proves that Victorians (especially Melb. ppl) live in there own world. AFL is only played in Australia and it was only played in Vic until some 10 years ago (maybe a little more)
Soccer is played right round the world by nearly every race

And AFL is the only sport in the world that gives you 1 point for missing the goal :D

Your all a bunch of slack jawed Faggots !!!
Obviously you cant handle the bounce of a non round ball.
Just to correct Aussie rules was played in QLD as the QAFL as I
played it all through my late primary and early high school days.
I respect soccer for the ball skills but cannot respect it as a game
due to the constant method acting in taking dives every chance a
player gets. If its a mans sport then it should be played like one
and not by a bunch on pussies getting yellow cards for almost
any contact with another player. You dont see that level of wimpiness
in any other code of football.
Lastly how cool Tony. 81-83 were amazing years and I was always
proud to be a Carlton supporter. With the likes of Fitzpatrick and Doole
I was always glued to the TV every time they played. I worked in
the same company as Paul Kelly for a while so that plus the old
Syd-Melb hatred turned me, to a Swans supporter.
Regards
Mal
p.s I know its historical, but if a Victorian team isnt good enough to
make the finals I dont see why the "one day in september" should belong
to them.

Jeeze, if only the results of this poll were the same as those in the AFL. Richmond with the equal highest number of supporters and we still get beaten by the Maguire (sorry Collingwood) Magpies. I hope we can lift our game soon! BTW I completely agree with you BigMal about soccer.

yeah, respect to those putting rugby league and union. I spent a week in victoria this week surrounded by victorians, south australians and western australians. Each and every one of them AFL supporters. does anybody else know how i felt?
My vote went to NRL(the Novocastrian inside forced me to) but had you spelt rugby correctly, Dan, that may have received my vote. Anybody going to the world cup here?

I was in Canberra a few months ago and spent an evening in a pub watching the local team getting thrashed. It ment nothing to me, why when you succed in getting the ball over the line you only have a try :?
Rod
It's what you grew-up with. I have attempted describing Cricket to an American, never again.

fuk that bull**** about soccer being a pussies fukn sport!!! thats just so much fukn bull****. theres as many injuries in soccer as there is in any of the other football codes, and the players go in as hard as anyother players- the only difference is that they go in with their feet, non of this hands bull****.
soccer is the world game. non of these other codes can hold a candle to it in a worldwide perspective.
but im with cosmo dude, its all about what ur used 2 and what u have grown up with.

Sorry to upset you so much O-lym-pic.
Like I said I respect the skills, I cant play it which is why I played
the more meathead codes, but on the other side I watched the
World Cup and you have to admit there was a lot of diving going
on there. I only remember 1 guy going off for the blood rule and
that was from an accident banging heads. When I played soccer at
school a shoulder barge was like a shepard in Aus Rules, you could
creme a guy you just had to only use your shoulder.
My son plays soccer for the Caringbah Redbacks and sometimes there
is an adult game on one of the fields and those games are great to watch
as there is a bit of tumble going on. But at an elite level I find the
strategy used to get fouls to advance the team, detracts greatly the
enjoyment of watching the skills of the players.
Regards
Mal
p.s Tony I remember a Mario's name but cant say I really remember
what he looked like etc. Your making me feel old as that was over 20
years ago. I've had a driving licence now for over half my life and have
owned my Astina for over 6 years now :( You'll have to send me a picture.
