Hi all.
Before any one starts I have tried the search.
I have just started loking to purchase a 94-98 Astina hatch and was wondering what the key differences are between the various models in the series.
Obviously the Ps are 4Cyl and the Fs are V6
I have noticed differences in colour coded door handles but I was wondering
Mainly interested in differences in the F1, 2 & 3 5 door hatch series
Do they all have Dual Air Bag, ABS, Air, Cruise etc..
Thanks for any help

The 1, 2 and 3 basically reflect build ranges if I remember right. So as an example Kitty had a P1, it had all the cool features like the leather gear boot, door courtesy lights and so on, door bins with lids and stuff. Bythe time they go to P3 all that stuff had gone. The drivers Airbag become standard aroudn then too.
The airbags were options on the Ps, but the v6s always had both I think. Overall you'll find mechanically they're the same, but the F1 will probably be better equipped than the F3 in terms of little features.

Ok
So if I am looking for a full house car with Dual Airbags, ABS, Cruise, Air, V6 I would be best looking for an F1
Usually cars get more options during the lifetime of a series, Very interesting.

nah its personal taste man like i recon the p3 and f3 have a WAY nicer internal finish if anyone organises cruises in ur area go to one and have a look at what the diffs are if u really want i can get pics of the insides of my car etc and u can see which trim u like better (p3's are black:P) p2,p1 are grey or green!
if its an option get the f3

Got it, so the interiors of the P3 and F3 are fairly similar.
I am going to check a few out in car yards during the week. Most are Ps so I will probably have to wait for the V6.
If you can post or send some pics that would be great as I don't think there are many meets in Adelaide.

Prof, yeah, but the Astina was introduced at a time whent eh dollar was very strong against the yen, and even then the v6 was a premium priced car, as we got to 1997 the currencies had shifted a bit and to keep a lid on the pricing the inclusions dropped. Also in some ways I think they were gearing up the for the BJs that came in a lot cheaper...
