Finally my first mod!!!!! besides things like stereo, pedals, gear knob, etc...
Well i just got a Lukey exhaust....2 1/4" with a superflow muffler and a 3" dump. and no resonator... it sounds pretty damn good! But i didnt notice much of a performance gain.
Next week i hope to get my car in for a tune up and im gonna give it an oil change and stuff...
What should i do next? k&n air filter? CAI? Plugs & leads? what else? i hope to do something else in about 2-3 weeks...

its quite loud but it sounds really good and smooth. i havent really noticed much of a performance gain though :( i think i will get the new filter soon but CAI might have to wait a little.... I dont really know how to do it or the stuff required to do it......

CAI looked surprisingly easy, but can I just say, that if you can't do the CAI, then at least remove the resonator box.

I have done that and have left the pipe hanging from the bottom of my air intake box, have done nothing else with it....
Just haven't been able to, long story, pretty boring one too.

It isn't that hard and lots of the guys on here can tell you all about it. There are also tons of pics. Check in the cruises threads about CAI weekends.

I promise that will give an instant result!!!
Oh, and get the filter too, but removing the resonator will definately give you a boost.

I can also recommend a rear swaybar for a handling improvement at $150. Stops the nose down, rear leg up, understeer that I had on my BA Hatch. I admit I hit the corners a lot harder now!

I got two new tyres on the front and while they were at it, I got wheel alignment not only on front but rear as well. You wouldn't think it would do a great deal, but WRONG! I have been proven wrong again and it is worth it.

I guess all I can say is listen to the fella's here, they know sooooooo much it's incredible.
And the other thing, attention to detail. Don't cut corners on something small like a rear wheel alignment.

I am learning my lessons, and as a jubie in the modifications area, I hope I can share my experiences with you and hope it helps.

Cheers and welcome to the mod addiction!

Hey,

I did the Plugs and Leads on the weekend, and also removed the resonator,

Actually noticed quite a difference.

Let us all know how you go.
