Is it true that the SP20 has a rev limiter. If it is, can it be removed?

The injector computer program in the ecu is not programed to go over 6500! U would need an aftermarket setup & program it 2 suit! I would lov it if my sp went a bit higher eg 7000! I could hit 100 in 2nd! I wonder if anyone has raised it with a chip torque computer??

Some ecu's have a variable rev limiter so depending on the fuel and atmospheric pressure and temp will determine what the Rev Limiter is.

You wouldnt want to remove the Rev limiter but maybe extending it 500rpm wouldnt hurt but really some cars dont perform good at redline so sometimes better to shift earlier.

Well the BP motor obviously has a higher rev limit than the 2.0L engine, mine doesnt cut untill about 7600RPM,and i havent modified my ECU in anyway :?
Not that i like to take it there

Mazda has a history of over ambitious Tachos.
May be that they saw the light with the BJ.
or
If the BA reached max power 750rpm earlier I'd be happy with a lower redline and better torque

Yeah thats something that the BP N/A could do with extra of,TORQUE

All,

it would be great to remove the rev liiter as pre header stage it would run out of puff around 6000rpm and the car needed a gear change around this at 5800rpm, but now post headers it revs right up to 6500rpm and feels it could take on at least another 500rpm before upshifting.
I'm not sure how much difference there would be with a sports muffler system setup, but definetely the headers make a difference.
