i thought this would inspire.......i was driving home from work, music bouncying around the cabin of my beasty little 89 BG when these to lebanese guys come rolling up beside me in the fully sick lancer...we were at a set of lights and they started to joke around i heard one of them scream out hey man only hair dressers drive those man! i gave a quick laugh and wound up the window...not thinking that that was enough, they threw something out there window and on to my passengers side quarter panel, laughed a bit more and started to play revs with there engine, i gave them the quick laugh and noded while throwing abuse as you do....the lights went green and guess who sky rocketed off the lights to leave the fully sick ones roughly 20m behind....as i whatched in my rear view mirror he was trying to catchup but to no avail while his passenger just shook his head......my friends ever since i bought this car have always told me that 4cyl FWD cars are for pancies and of course they like the bogan commodore utes cause they go in circles.....lol anyway i thought this would inspire other crazy hair dresser drivers such as my self and i am glad im not a browns plains bogan after all....peace out...

i can relate to the situation.
back at my mums place thier is a guy that bought a stock fwd lancer spent millions of $$$ on it, now it is basically evo spec, 4wd turbo. anyway, cruisin through town one night and the tool was inches from my tail lights, tosser. got onto the highway and he pulled out beside me dropped it back and tried to pass me, i dropped it back as well and left him where he originally was BEHIND ME.
so the fully sick, is in fact the fully ****.

That's actually quite funny considering that Australian Lebonese have a higher incedence of hairdressers (and grocers) per capita. Maybe Stefan drives a Rancer too? :p

yes....or one glance at anyone trying to start something can lead to an interesting high speed drive......
or even them getting out of the car to kick yours... :p
i drive with my doors locked these days. and try to keep my eyes straight ahead...no matter what they're trying to do... (although it was funny...this one time, at a set of lights, i had an older commodore revving it trying to get me to go him.... i just smiled quietly, lights went green..... astra took off...and his gf was p*ssing herself laughing when we pulled up at the next set.... ;)
Beaten by a chic in an astra
Haha Lancer drivers have to be the stupidest drivers in the country.
In the small time I've had my beast, I've experienced some **** in a lancer roll up next to me with the windows down laughing and saying "Hey bra - What you runnin' under that heap bra? A 1.6??"
Too bad he was running a 1.5. . . .

lol lancer bashing.. hasnt everyone done it
but whilst on the subject of lancers... arent the new lancer's with 115kw and a similar weight gonna give us a run for our money?? i'm only reading off spec sheets by the way so by all means yell and shout at me if i'm wrong
Meh - sif - It's still a Lancer.
And I thinks that that is the expensive 'tuned up' version.
Just get a BPT

Not that 115kW is good for 2.4L and MIVEC... Oh well, they won't know what to do at the first corner anyhow. :D
In NZ when you see a tricked out lancer, 9 out of 10 times it'll be an EVO…

for those "bashing lancers", you do realise don't you that you're now as bad as them when they bash us?
sure, there's a lot of bad examples out there in the lancer community. And in Civics, and in Pulsars, and even within our own community. Just quietly know and appreciate that you're not lowering yourself to their standards or you too might suffer the fate of our beloved Chicaboo or LordWorm and have your driving privilidge revoked! So think twice before you burn them off at the lights.

As I am the frequent driver of a lancer (99 Lancer with the lot basically and no balls :p) I know for a fact these things have "F" all power, and I can say myself that I am usually the one that gets hurled abuse to race the thing, must be that if it has an evo kit, it must have a turbo... wrong!
Oh and for the record, one of my old mates has the same model lancer with whole kit, but with a 4age supercharger... supposedly it puts out 120kw at the wheels, but i can still put him down at any set of lights in the astina... :p

Funny considering Gav and Lord didn't smoke tyres either.. It was probably the cob-webs in the exhaust that were burning..

Same here, 2002 VRX which happens to be my girlfriends. Thankfully not a thing done to it. I agree with the no power thing also, it lacks punch for a 2 litre engine with the same power as the 1.8L DOHC BP engine..

AUDM BPT were 117kW from 1.8L, whereas the 2.4L with 115kW should still do atleast aswell with the extra capacity and newness, but that's not the case...

Actually the Achilles heal of the 4AGZE (supercharged engine we are talking about here) is the SC'er itself. It suffered from overheating and the seals would go, so I think they only ran at WOT because of this? Toyota didn't think of putting a more decent SC'er on at all...

Jared is looking at 4AGZE for his AE92, there is apparently a common SC swap from another toyota supercharged motor which solves the overheating problem and thats the way he's headed...but yeah your right, to the best of my knowledge the "WOT only" set up for the blower was purely because it was an overheating heap of poo.

Hey Guys,
One of my friends has recently got him self a nice little loan fo around th $23 thou mark for a 2006 Lancer ES 2.4 MIVEC with a sports exhaust, some nice rims, evo body kit minus the bonnet, and lowered suspension.
It looks.... alright (im not a big fan of lancers).
And he thinks its the fastest car in the world
Problem for hims is that my 93 Astina with almost 200,000k's beats the pants off it!!! fair enough ive got a pretty little BPT... :p
but my point is ive spent under $10,000 on my car... just an observation tho... Each to their own.. :)

He bought a lancer, with an evo kit... of course he thinks its gunna be the fastest thing in the world :) evo kit adds an extra 50kW when put on a non-evo rancer! :)

the SC'er on the ageze's were crap but i cant remember one person who kept them on in the first place.....they are a formidable opponent of the BP and should be one of the engines that stand in the pantheon of greatness...hehehe how do ya like that LOL

22-05-2007, 05:41 PM
having owned a sprinter previously, i can tell you the engines are incredible for thier capacity and virtually unlimited in the way of mods. very formidible oponent to bp. haven't seen a 20-valve variant to a bp yet though.

22-05-2007, 05:46 PM
My friend has done the 4AGE 20 valve conversion in a AE92 yet my 1.8 BP still has more pulling power than his but on the other hand another friend has done the same thing but with the 4AGZE and replaced the supercharger with a really good turbo and it blitzed me every time. Soon the friend with the 20 valve is doing the turbo upgrade on his and should have a lot more power and beat mine. Apparently the stock 4AGE 20 valve has about 115kw is this true?
nimrods86
22-05-2007, 06:26 PM
it's true. not bad for a 1.6. did your friends 4a have original internals if so would have lost power through wear over the years. also an ae92 is front drive so torque is delivered a bit diferently to the rear drive ae86 could be a reason why you hosed him.
zappy65
22-05-2007, 06:35 PM
20 valves and 4ages have lightened internals and can definetly stand the test of time....during toyotas reign with the 4age they were incredible with lightened internals.....

HAHAHA yeah did forget to mention the 20kW RALLIART sticker too hehee :D
Jeremy
hmmm i'm pretty sure that the 4AGZEU didn't run lightened internals ... its big deal was that the block was beefed up to handle the blower on the side of the engine ... it only needed to reach about 6250rpm ... but, the 4AGE20V ran up to 7800rpm so it required lightened internals along with under piston oil squirters etc ...
now ... if you could only get your hands on a Formula Japan engine ... also known as a Formula Toyota ... slightly destroked to 1500cc and making the best part of 250hp at 11,000rpm
