I love my BG, but I'm getting disheartened by it's constant stream of problems. As soon as I fix one thing something else breaks, so, I'm considering buying something a bit newer and in better condition.

So, tell us why you love your BG, and hopefully you can get me to change my mind.

Thats what you get with used cars jordy, things break. But your love for your car makes you live wth it ;)

I dont have a BG, but nath does, his has lots of problems from time to time, but to him its a project car and if it ran smothly and did everything right all the time it wouldent be a project. Every car has its problems, its just only a matter of time to wen the problem happens. And I think if your sick of fixing a car well u may as well buy a newie, but then you have to consider how much an even newer car will cost to fix. Also if you dont love your car yourself there is no point in keeping it and spending time and money on it wen at the end of they day ull probably just sell it off and get less than what you put into it. But if it was me id keep it. :P

Now there's a good point, the cost of getting a newer car fixed, ouch.

Maybe... keep it till I can afford that Golf GTI I've always wanted!

I would have to say the biggest thing I like about my BG is the fact that it is a BA....lol

Never had an issue other than it now needs a replacement clutch at 220000km. Very reliable, quick enough to scare some SS's and very fuel efficient.

oh and because it is a hardtop most people look at it and go "mm what is it" and that includes some mechanics.

I don't have a BG, but my mates BG doesn't have all the classic problems you come to expect from a BG (other than overheating...). It's got a straight body with no ripples in the metal and no rust in the sunroof. Damn, it even has A pillar moulds, except the right one is cracked in the top corner where cockheads lean on them...

My KE (BF in Mazda camp) needs some paint work, but it's really great mechanically, and it just needs suspension bushings pretty much. No overheating problems that I've ever encountered either...

what i like about my BG is that its easy to fix.

its easy to tell whats wrong with it and easy to fix. for example me and my bro changed both cv joints in like 2 hrs and both needed to be cut off lol. also it never dies i have overheated my motor a few times(minor overheating) and its still going, just has a little ring blow by lol.

i haven't driven my BG for that long now, I've forgotten what I love about it. When its going again, I'm sure it won't be too long before the memories of frying tyres in 3rd gear and that awesome sound of the turbo surge will return.

Actually, the best thing i love about my BG is the look on peoples faces when i tell them it runs a Mid 12sec quarter. heheh

i love my BG cause its everything i want in a car.....it has all the features for a 1989 model car that are still getting sold as extra's today....the eas of engine management compared to the new and rather untrusting engines with there million and one sensors....mazda's are also known for NOT breaking and fuel economy and availabilty of aftermarket parts....the shape of the car is even now never aged i terms of design and hell if you dont like the BP engine you could always build a 12 sec smasher that could whirl around the tightest of mountains.....yeah i think thats about it.....lol

-one of the highest class hatches of its time (SP) ie power windows/sunroof/NA engine power etc
-the most awesome map lights/method to switch them on
-a BP that simply doesnt die and revs to 7k a little too happily!
-nice big tacho/needle to watch that 7k
-kinky popups
-sweeeet buckets
-mine has familia badge on front, jap spec ASTINA garnish on back and ive done jap spec tail lights
-looks that have aged gracefully
-suspension to beat modern hatches on corners
-and best of all that little plate in the engine bay that says its made in japan!!!!!~

I wish i'd never sold my BG-GT sedan. I'd love to have it as a trackday car now…
