The stage was a plot of land within the Moorabbin airport area.
Surface: Grass on sandy soil.
Weather: Rain until about 30 minutes before start, rain as I finished the last test.
Mazdas: Me in the 'stina.

My last 'khana had been October '06 in the Demio and I didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to. Flogging an almost new car around a paddock held me back. Prior to that it was September '03 in the old I4 'stina (I gave that trophy to my mother).

I turned up in time for scrutineering ready to rumble. I soon discovered that the other cars in my class were seven WRX's, an Evo VIII and an elderly Prelude. Closer to start a Suzuki Liana with mom pop and child fronted.

Enough of my ramblings;

Well another 'khana today.
Not a lot of entrants as today was fathers day but it was a lot of fun. The dust in Werribee was extreme and I needed to stop on some tests as I just couldn't see through the dirt I was throwing into the air :o at one stage I needed the wipers.
Results to follow.

The day was soooo much fun. The WD cost me big time, considering I'd never seen any of the 12 tests before I'm not surprised I WD on at least one.
An LSD and careful tyre choice would get the times down.

Agreed on the LSD, since fitting my LSD, most test times have dropped 2-4 seconds.

Where you on grass or tarmac?

Dirt... Defiantly dirt.
I avoid tarmac 'khanas as they tend to rip the guts out of CVs.
My driving style is very heavy on the hand brake so on dirt I need the LSD for recovery and on the grass for greater control.
I am getting back to where I was a few years ago so trophies are on the cards soon.

It's the busy end of the year and last weekend (14th) was the second last G5. I was 7th outright.
Today (21st) was the final round in the VMC, I'll post results as they come.
