ok guys,
done a bit of research today and found that these rims are hellishly odd sized! (16 x 7.5) haha the best my local tyre place could do is 4 yokohamas (the only 4 left) 225/40/16 haha such bizzare size. i cringe @ the thought of what 225 tyres would be like on an astina. apparently they would be 10mm under stock size on the 1.8's
looking less atractive as the muinites clock over

7.5" is quite large for 16's
Good grip though... thats why you would get 215/50/16 tyres

according to my tyresizer program there is 6mm overall diffrecne between 215/50/16 and stock. whereas the 225/40/16 yokohamas were -10mm diffrence
only problem i can find so far is that 215/50/16 tyres simply dont exist!
can someone please inform me on the ramifications associated with 225 tyres. on this setup. the wheels are ET38-40. will it work? or (waits for jimbo to laugh) scrub?!
cheers mike

haha im more interested to find out if this would actually work now not so much in getting the wheels. it seems wierd that .5 of an inch has been added to these rims pretty much stuffing up anyone looking at buying them......but hey. maybe thats why there in the tradingpost :P
cheers mike
LOL am i that obvious... ET PHONE HOME.
Tyre guy told me 225 wont sit on the rim properly so for street driving it will be useless and end up damagine the rim's rim rim rim rim. 215 is the correct tyre for a 7.5" wide rim.
He is probably selling them for the same reason... you cant get tyres for them at a reasonable price. Not like they are 22" rims or somthing... just a set of 16s... I wouldnt bother with em unless you want some expensive drink coasters

it appears that these puppies have come up forsale again and a much cheaper price. we all know that falken azenis 215/45/16 are now availible and are a perfect fit for a 7.5 rim :)
