    Because I went to Revolution Racegear in Springwood and they tried to sell me a $600 helmet, telling me the lesser ones would not be permitted for vehicle racing use...?..

    Hey Zappy,
    I just realised that you left me a message about helmets.
    the basic requirement is to comply with the basic australian standard.
    I have an $80.00 helmet at home that I have used for all sorts of racing.
