Parts have arrived the other day from Rupe and others.
Mazdaspeed Rear Tower Brace http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030267.jpg Mazdaspeed Wheel http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030270.jpg Hooker 3" Aero Chamber Muffler (stainless steel) http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030272.jpg MX5 Magazines http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030274.jpg |
Removed the front guards and bumper today
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030278.jpg This is the damage on the drivers side.. actually very minimal http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030279.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030280.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030281.jpg |
my friend cleaning the interior of the car
Before http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030277.jpg After http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030282.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030283.jpg tomorrow i will be cleaning the black sticky stuff off the doors. cleaning the boot. and probably gonna remove as much wiring from the front end as possible for repairs :) |
added to the list of parts is a Suzuki Cappuccino Washer bottle :D. for those unfamiliar with the reason for this, the standard washer bottle sits on the firewall of the passenger side which is next to the exhaust. you get what would happen yeah :P. well this Suzuki washer bottle sits behind the firewall of the driver side away from heat and away from engine bay which equals more space :D
this is the bottle.. it is an odd one isnt it :) http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030468.jpg This is what it should look like (i googled this image. it is not mine) http://i31.tinypic.com/91h4cl.jpg |
minimal damage for a panel beater mabe......fark me  You must be into MX5's man! I think the NB's are better looking but the lil' NA6 I had was a solid little fun car. I didn't like the light rear end though but I'm used to larger cars I guess. Also mine wasn't worth modifying for me for what I was after.
Well you got your work cut out for you. After seeing the dash pulled I must confess.......I drilled through the firewall on the Zed & hit a pipe or the element ......oh that sound of leaking A/C gas & smell.......needless to say I will be puling dash before friggin summer  Thought I was well clear of element but I guess the pipes bend sideways :o Keep the updates with these cool projects |

yeah, sometimes miscalculations gets the better of us. i do it all the time :D. After a few weeks i wont be posting up for about 3 months as i will be saving up for the front cut NA8 (panels for the black one and engine and box for the silver one). And once the car is done its going to be a bit of a Frankenstein due to bits and pieces from other cars. i wont be reveling what the parts are until i actually get them, FUN FUN FUN :D Chewy |
I love Road&ster mags. I have a few hidden away somewhere in the house. Haven't seen them in about 2-3 years.

A very sunny day today at the "sunshine state"... a bit too sunny in fact. so we had to have a work area with shade...
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030476.jpg Today we attempted to remove the WHOLE loom from the car, and separated the ECU loom from the main loom. Before http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030472.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030473.jpg Blower motor removed, air vent mechanism removed, evaporator had to be left intact because it still has AC gas inside http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030475.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030477.jpg |
Half a day later...
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030480.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030486.jpg Friend just taping up the wires that are still needed. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030483.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030484.jpg Engine harness from inside the cabin and under the bonnet (one piece) http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030485.jpg |
Quite dirty under the bonnet so i had to wash it down.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030486.jpg Soaked in degreaser ready for blasting http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030488.jpg Vacuuming the boot to degrease http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030491.jpg Washing the dirt from the engine bay and boot http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030490.jpg |
End of the day's work
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030492.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030497.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030498.jpg Probably cannot tell but its a lot cleaner than before. Will attempt to finish cleaning up the wiring harness tomorrow. Plan for the harness is: - Separate the ECU harness from the main harness - Remove unwanted wires that are useless for the project - Re-tape the loom to make it more clean |
got your work cut out for you....fun?

- Shin-Etsu Silicon Grease. Used for greasing the window sliders of your car. Windows dont take forever to go up or down now. Works great :) http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/IMAG0018.jpg |

today my friend and i attempted to strip the whole car down to the bare shell... this is what we got up to
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1040218.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1040217.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1040216.jpg Dash out http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1040219.jpg Carpet and loom out http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1040224.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1040225.jpg thats all ive actually managed to do today. didnt get to pull the engine out as i hoped could. but while i was cleaning out the carpet i found a japanese ring spanner (looks cheap) and a spare key for this half cut :D I'll be extremely busy next week and will work my ass off to get the whole thing stripped by 2pm Saturday so i can pick up my black rolling shell from my other friends house to relocate as he is moving interstate soon. Exam is also coming up soon so i'll be in hiatus for a few weeks (hopefully not 4 months) and will get back into the game right after that. |

They have been sitting there for years waiting for someone to use them!! |
Wow. A year ago i bought this black NA8C in Sydney to do some serious mods. Due to limited funds and parts it took me this long to tell you all that it is now at the panel beaters getting a new nose job.
I have spent 3 hours in the rain this morning trying to get the little thing out of the back yard and onto the trailer. It was a pain because there was an S15 in front of the gate that was missing a wheel! I eventually made it to the panel beaters. Soaked and relieved to see that they were still open i dropped it off and quickly went home to shower before i got sick. Those who are wondering. I have almost all the parts i need to get this car running once its back from the panel beaters. I will only reveal the parts i install as i build this car. No point in showing you pictures if its not on the car right? :P P.S. I have sold my silver MX5 with standard NA8C running gear. Now for the real project http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1040896.jpg Chewy |
I wonder where those rims are from??
|
i stole them from some guys house last year :)
|
oh my.. an actual update? Continued with the wiring this weekend. stripping unnecessary wires and tape to lose as much weight as possible and to re-do the whole wiring harness in the car. I will be separating all the looms and group them accordingly and also relocating them for a neat, tidy and as professional as possible wiring harnesses (will have minimum of 3 grouped harnesses).
From this http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1050057.jpg To this http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1050061.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1050062.jpg will strip the rest of it next week and then this engine loom from the SR20 http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1050058.jpg Gonna need a whiteboard as well :D Just noticed that i took some crap photos. my bad :P |
OH. almost forgot to post this....
A better picture of the seats i bought (i stole this picture from the internet but my seats are exactly the same) http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...25900020s1.jpg And the wheels. (if you think hard enough you'll probably figure out what they are) http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/IMG_0982.jpg |
What else has been some to this lately? :)
|
uh not much. been collecting more parts than i have been working on it. I have a lot more free time these days so most of it should be done by the end of the year. then the last thing would be engine. hopefully no later than june next year. i've been so busy its not funny :(
|
Sweet. :) can't wait to see alway love this model mx5 sexy
|
**** I hate Mx-5 owners . That on basics of my Jelously for the fact you can fit inside one and drive it.
I can fit can't drive it. not even the new ones - well none with out difficulty. Re-read most of it and in envy of it. Two weeks ago was offed a a 5 year old model and I tryed it for 2 days. but too much backpain. It's so not fair. as I'd have to put in a race bucket or similar to get the extra inchs I need which would ruin a nice near new model. |
Update update update i want an update
