Ah that's alright. I've got a few things to take care of in the coming months. Another car would make alot of ppl unhappy in this house :P lol

tomorrow i will be cleaning the black sticky stuff off the doors. cleaning the boot. and probably gonna remove as much wiring from the front end as possible for repairs :)

chewyryce 09-05-2011 10:47 PM

added to the list of parts is a Suzuki Cappuccino Washer bottle :D. for those unfamiliar with the reason for this, the standard washer bottle sits on the firewall of the passenger side which is next to the exhaust. you get what would happen yeah :P. well this Suzuki washer bottle sits behind the firewall of the driver side away from heat and away from engine bay which equals more space :D

this is the bottle.. it is an odd one isnt it :)

This is what it should look like (i googled this image. it is not mine)

minimal damage for a panel beater mabe......fark me  You must be into MX5's man! I think the NB's are better looking but the lil' NA6 I had was a solid little fun car. I didn't like the light rear end though but I'm used to larger cars I guess. Also mine wasn't worth modifying for me for what I was after.

Well you got your work cut out for you. After seeing the dash pulled I must confess.......I drilled through the firewall on the Zed & hit a pipe or the element ......oh that sound of leaking A/C gas & smell.......needless to say I will be puling dash before friggin summer  Thought I was well clear of element but I guess the pipes bend sideways :o

Keep the updates with these cool projects

im not doing the repairs myself. i aint no panel beater. owning the silver mx5 has turned me a little obsessed with them and yes these cars are a little bit too light. in fact with power to weight at the moment its too light for this turbo application so im turning the silver one to a stock 1.8 and the black one is going to have the SR20.

yeah, sometimes miscalculations gets the better of us. i do it all the time :D.

After a few weeks i wont be posting up for about 3 months as i will be saving up for the front cut NA8 (panels for the black one and engine and box for the silver one). And once the car is done its going to be a bit of a Frankenstein due to bits and pieces from other cars. i wont be reveling what the parts are until i actually get them, FUN FUN FUN :D

I love Road&ster mags. I have a few hidden away somewhere in the house. Haven't seen them in about 2-3 years.

A very sunny day today at the "sunshine state"... a bit too sunny in fact. so we had to have a work area with shade...

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030476.jpg

Today we attempted to remove the WHOLE loom from the car, and separated the ECU loom from the main loom.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1030498.jpg

Probably cannot tell but its a lot cleaner than before.

Will attempt to finish cleaning up the wiring harness tomorrow.

Plan for the harness is:
- Separate the ECU harness from the main harness
- Remove unwanted wires that are useless for the project
- Re-tape the loom to make it more clean

Carpet and loom out
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1040224.jpg
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1040225.jpg

thats all ive actually managed to do today. didnt get to pull the engine out as i hoped could. but while i was cleaning out the carpet i found a japanese ring spanner (looks cheap) and a spare key for this half cut :D

I'll be extremely busy next week and will work my ass off to get the whole thing stripped by 2pm Saturday so i can pick up my black rolling shell from my other friends house to relocate as he is moving interstate soon. Exam is also coming up soon so i'll be in hiatus for a few weeks (hopefully not 4 months) and will get back into the game right after that.

Clean_Cookie 25-09-2011 08:37 PM

Lmk if ya want a hand next weekend!

chewyryce 25-09-2011 08:46 PM

No rush, its not as if I use them!!
They have been sitting there for years waiting for someone to use them!!

chewyryce 28-04-2012 06:06 PM

Wow. A year ago i bought this black NA8C in Sydney to do some serious mods. Due to limited funds and parts it took me this long to tell you all that it is now at the panel beaters getting a new nose job.

I have spent 3 hours in the rain this morning trying to get the little thing out of the back yard and onto the trailer. It was a pain because there was an S15 in front of the gate that was missing a wheel! I eventually made it to the panel beaters. Soaked and relieved to see that they were still open i dropped it off and quickly went home to shower before i got sick.

Those who are wondering. I have almost all the parts i need to get this car running once its back from the panel beaters. I will only reveal the parts i install as i build this car. No point in showing you pictures if its not on the car right? :P

P.S. I have sold my silver MX5 with standard NA8C running gear. Now for the real project

I wonder where those rims are from??

chewyryce 28-04-2012 06:41 PM

i stole them from some guys house last year :)

chewyryce 22-07-2012 09:41 PM

oh my.. an actual update? Continued with the wiring this weekend. stripping unnecessary wires and tape to lose as much weight as possible and to re-do the whole wiring harness in the car. I will be separating all the looms and group them accordingly and also relocating them for a neat, tidy and as professional as possible wiring harnesses (will have minimum of 3 grouped harnesses).

From this

To this
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1050061.jpg

will strip the rest of it next week and then this engine loom from the SR20
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...5/P1050058.jpg

Gonna need a whiteboard as well :D

Just noticed that i took some crap photos. my bad :P

A better picture of the seats i bought (i stole this picture from the internet but my seats are exactly the same)

What else has been some to this lately? :)

chewyryce 21-09-2012 10:11 PM

uh not much. been collecting more parts than i have been working on it. I have a lot more free time these days so most of it should be done by the end of the year. then the last thing would be engine. hopefully no later than june next year. i've been so busy its not funny :(

tylerstewart1 21-09-2012 10:13 PM

Sweet. :) can't wait to see alway love this model mx5 sexy

rodhog 21-09-2012 11:56 PM

**** I hate Mx-5 owners . That on basics of my Jelously for the fact you can fit inside one and drive it.

I can fit can't drive it. not even the new ones - well none with out difficulty.

Re-read most of it and in envy of it. Two weeks ago was offed a a 5 year old model and I tryed it for 2 days. but too much backpain. It's so not fair.
as I'd have to put in a race bucket or similar to get the extra inchs I need
which would ruin a nice near new model.

Mad Mat 28-01-2013 08:02 AM

Update update update i want an update
