SP20 Speakers

I know there is a lot of thread about this but yeah,,

I am thinking to get some decent speakers for my SP20.

For the rear am thinking to get these ones : http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ROCKFORD-...ht_1450wt_1139

Hope the 6x9 is a straight fit at the back.

For the front and rear doors any suggestions? also what size will fit straight will all holes properly aligned?

front doors are 5x7's and rears are 6's splits would do a good job dont think you would need any speakers in the parcel tray

aparently 6x8's fits the front door as well ? is that right? because i already got a pair of cadence ZXS-681 which is 6x8 sitting around ;)

Hmm for the rear door, is it round? i always though it was oval as the front ones.

If i put a 6" splits, any idea where to mount the tweeters?

cheers

6x8s will fit in the front aswell. And the backs are 6s

If you've got a sedan the rears aren't in the door, they're in the parcel shelf and are 6x9"

why not just get good 5x7 splits for the front. save any hassle of making adaptors.

even 5x7 co-axils will be better than the 10yo single cones that are in there currently.

JL Audio also make a 5X7" speakers and a few members here have them and are really happy with them, I upgraded my exs Mazda 3 by installing Boston 5X7 in the fronts of her car and they sounded great.
I have the ZR650-CSi splits in my front doors and the VR650-CSi in the rear and they sound amazing.

smurfy 31-10-2011 11:44 AM

but now i came across this on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/6x9-inch-...ht_2305wt_1139

What you's reckon is better, getting 6x9 at the back and splits in the front..

or

splits in both front and back?

Ben 31-10-2011 03:45 PM

Well since you have the 6x9's already installed? Just replace the front to splits (kicker or alpine are awesome), rear doors to just some 3ways then some decent 6x9's.

6x9's are only good for producing a deeper bass. If you have a sub generally go for something with better highs. Since you wont really be hearing the bass from the speakers. IF no sub, go something with bass. Sony ones i had in my lancer, they were crisp as.

Unless you dont have the 6x9's already. Just replace the rear doors with just some 3-way speakers. No need for high's in the back :P

Well i just have stock speakers for now..

also another question, for the rear door speakers, is there any cable already present for speakers, or will have to run cable for it?
its just a pain in the ass to run new cable especially to get it through the rubber gourmet and also no guarantee how long the cable will last with opening and closing of the door.

Yeah i got a 15" alpine type R in the boot.

Thats why i was thinking to get 2 set of splits, which will give me more high.

What you's think?

Spykey 31-10-2011 07:24 PM

anyone heard of hertz splits?

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....#ht_2054wt_952

am getting a deal of $135 if i get 2 sets..

LTN000 31-10-2011 08:09 PM

personally i dont think you need to go crazy buying expensive speakers, your ears arent good enough to justify a $200 price jump unless your listening to them side by side. All your doing is spending extra for branding. stick to a decent, reliable brand that you know that works
