the CX-7 looks awesome on your car dont know if its cause there almost the same colour or the amount of work you've got to now do to make them fit but BIG THUMBS UP !!!

Hammo 27-06-2012 04:53 PM

$175 Thats a bargin, Mine were almost scratch free when I got them, Paid $400 for mine even though they were on ebay and other people wanted them, got in quick when i seen them and messaged the seller saying pick them up on weekend with cash in hand, Youve done realy well.

marcs_sp20 27-06-2012 05:10 PM

You just have to find a seller that doesnt know what they are worth ;) I paid $165 for my set of CX7's way back in 09 as the bloke I bought them off of had put fullysickasbro 22's on his black CX7

HAIGHIE 27-06-2012 07:02 PM

yer i got mine form ebay aswell and i was $99 delivery had them in three working days so pretty happy,

HAIGHIE 10-07-2012 10:13 PM

so i finnished removing the black stips off the doors that you can see in all the other pics and the mud flaps , i should of done the mud flaps when i first got the car looks so much better

http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/.../phone2010.jpg
and you'll se the after shots in the next photos:)

the removal of the strips was easy as just hit the edge with a hair dryer untill it was hot and then it just peeled off

http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/.../phone2019.jpg
http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/.../phone2018.jpg

so that was the easy bit then came the garstly challange of removing the sticking adhesive and glue :|

http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/.../phone2027.jpg
http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/.../phone2020.jpg
http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/.../phone2025.jpg

so as excited as i was to sit there an peel it off, i recived a message of azz ( bg1.8sp) to get a bloody caramel wheel.
and so i did and thank god i did, took about an hour to have it all striped back and polished up :)

http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/.../phone2030.jpg
http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/.../phone2035.jpg
http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/.../phone2036.jpg

i also recived my clear side indicators aswell but i hated them so i just tinted the original orange ones and i'm very happy:)

nar lol that was one thing that i cheacked as soon as i got it off i compared one side to the other sound exactly the same only thing i noticed was that the dor shell flexes like it worps in but pops straight back out.

HAIGHIE 10-07-2012 10:35 PM

coz trents went tinnie?

SP-20-DB 10-07-2012 10:39 PM

yer it sounded different to mine after he did it. but i may just paint mine

BG1.8sp 11-07-2012 06:14 AM

Why can't ya?

They look great man. So much cleaner looking :)

Cant wait for the wheels!

BG1.8sp 11-07-2012 10:58 AM

Because my rear right door has been previously resprayed so I started on that one and as suspected when I lifted the corner it took the paint up with it...
So just waiting for the respray to take them off

smurfy 11-07-2012 12:01 PM

Thats the same with me too :(

marcs_sp20 11-07-2012 12:02 PM

Very clean, and mines tingy too, Cant wait to see them CX7's on it :D

Same thing happens to mine :D These BJ has very thin shell so they flex a lot without the door strip

HAIGHIE 11-07-2012 04:48 PM

yer my RH rear door i believe has had a clear coat respray there's a little step on clear around where the strip use to be but that's like one of the good things with the colour it's not really noticeable unless you get fairly close to it, but yer doors aren't tinniy at all.

i can't wait to get the cx7 either as soon as rego is paid and i get everything to do the 5 stud conversion they will be on:) i'll try and be really detailed and take heeps of photo's for anyone else looking to do the conversion,

what do use reakon keep them in allow or get them powder coated black??

i think i'll use that stuff you told me to use first for a couple of weeks after i get them on azz

probaby the only reason they put them on there to start with, and so nan doesn't wreack the paint work then she opens the door on another car at the mall or a fence

Hammo 11-07-2012 05:02 PM

sprayed mine black, reckon looks better than normal alloy silver, also if you get them painted/powder coated you can take the M out of the centre cap, use a small flatbladed screwdriver gently and they should pop right out

xeon8 11-07-2012 05:17 PM

Loving the Makita springs :p When I first read that I was like "never heard of them?!" and proceeded to Google them... it was only when I read your first post a second time when I realised that theyre choppies :p hahaha

BG1.8sp 11-07-2012 05:19 PM

Yeah but it's a wierd colour... And black and silver will both look good... But he just hasn't decided yet.

Hence why I suggested to buy a couple of cans of plasti dip.
Spray the rims to give an idea... If you don't like them black peel it off.
If you like it... Go get them powder coated.

yer i don't know coz i'm blacking everything on my car and it's probly look more jdm but then at the same time i like really classy/easy to look at style as well, thats why i'm not sure :(

yea i think i would notice hahaha

hey wait I could have sworn i had wheels on my car...

BG1.8sp 11-07-2012 06:41 PM

It's the same though I had with mine.....
Was going black black black.... Which gives it that more aggressive stealth look...
But I just needed a Highlight as such... Making everything black takes away from eye catching things... So the silver rims brought that back! Hmmmmmmm
I has an idea...........
This up comming mod day... Do a rim swap session... You can put my rims on yours (just don't drive off with them) give you an idea of silver... And if someone is willing put some black 18's on Andrews car....
Actually... Do one side my rims and one side black rims and compare!

HAIGHIE 11-07-2012 07:31 PM

Lol hammo,
Your an ideas man azz, i know what i'm going to do, just powder coat 2 rims and do one side black and one side, silver, and then when i want change just put all the black on the rear or a colour on each corner lol, i got it hopefully i'll have the 5stud conversion done my then so we can put jess on :)

ben carney 10-08-2012 09:35 PM
