After owning a 1992 bg hatch for 3 years and loving every minute of it I decided I needed more power after going in Robs Wtf323.

The plan was to do a bpd conversion on the car at the time. This would of consisted of a haltech computer, big fmic, and gt28 turbo. However just before starting the project my mate said he was putting his white 1993 sp astina with gtx conversion up for sale. With in moments I knew the car had to be mine and within a week I was driving around in my new turbo 323.

The power was overwhelming. It had already had a generous amount of modifications that would keep most people happy. A couple of the significant mods were:
*vf10 turbo
*microtech lt10-s
* 3" dump pipe back exhaust
* Walbro pump
* gtr injectors
* electronic boost controller

It wasn't long before I started modifying a bit more. I changed the ebc to a eboost2 upgraded to bigger Rochester injectors and a good tune. The car made a decent 170kw Atw @ 16psi boost and ran numerous 13 sec 1/4s best of which was a 13.3@107mph

Soon enough I grew bored and was on the hunt for more power and faster et's.

This is when WHITE LIGHTENING was born.

Ever thought of an adaptronic :) id have a look at that too man :)

Motec's are great but u have to pay for what extras u aant with ur ecu and how long u want them for aswell..

Hlatech is looking like the #1 choice as i run Eflex and want to have the ethanol sensor etc

TheMAN 31-01-2013 10:14 AM

haltech and motec are by far the best EMS out there in terms of support and flexibility
anything else has more difficulties

With an adaptronic computer u can run a alchohole fuel sensor that senses how much ron is in the fuel and it will adjust the timing to suit the current fuel mixture. So if it senses 98ron and u have a tune for e85 all the computer will do it down tune the timeing anf fuel to the limits set buy the programer(your self) and it will listen for det and tune accordingly :)

Yes its only a new software/hardware but it has been proven in the drifters scene. A mate with a 14 with a L98 has this setup and get 6.6/100km. And all he did was put in the figures he wanted into the computer and took it to go get his max power tune, and the computer filled in the rest :)

yea ill have to look into them a little closer before purchase. The boost i am running is pushing the limits of the microtech and have plans for 35psi later

Clean_Cookie 31-01-2013 11:26 AM

And what tyres are you running to keep it pointing in the right direction?

mcwilly 31-01-2013 11:44 AM

at the moment just yokohama s drives which dont grip very well. next set will be semi slicks on the street. At the drag strip i will run 24.5x8 15" slicks.

At the moment pick a gear wait for boost and watch for the tyre smoke
