RustyKaos 14-01-2010 05:01 AM

Very nice and smooth looking car. Good luck with the rest of the mods.

It suits the car really well. So the airbag still functions oka s well?

HMT 14-01-2010 06:41 PM

Well, i didnt test it, if that's what you mean...however it's wired to the airbag ECU and there's no error code.

70NYD 14-01-2010 07:01 PM

Almost right - that was at the german side of the alps near lake constance, a region called "Allgäu" - black forest is a bit to the northwest from there (and one of the most lovely regions on the world imo - highly recommended :)).

More pictures from that day:

Just out of curiosity what does the symbol on the back window mean?

I agree.....its one of the most beautiful places I've been to and the best scenic drive I've ever done. Thoroughly enjoyed the drive.....nice windy road with pictures scenery (all roads I driven in Europe are far ...far ...better than Australian roads!!!) . I was there last summer in the black forest region when I went from France to Switzerland crossing borders during my annual European tour. Those pine trees are very unique for that region....I even visited the cuckoo clock factory and bought one! remember those cows with big bells!! :)

HMT 17-01-2010 11:59 PM

Yeah, it's great fun there on a nice spring or summer day - just awesome!

Well, i used to be a fan of Gigi d'Agostino and he uses that symbol as a logo - chinese for dance...
Removed it though, dont like that kind of thing any more :)

HMT 21-03-2010 11:33 PM

Test fitted new heater control, dial needles and front speaker system...

Clean_Cookie 22-03-2010 08:59 AM

wow. once again the europeans have done it again! well done! just curious with the seats, are they real leather, sewn on or real leather covers, or just leather look alike? looks the goods! one day haha

HMT 22-03-2010 03:46 PM

Thanks mate! The seats are genuine Mazda leather seats ;)

mikey_something 22-03-2010 07:31 PM

custom dials you made yourself? they look very nice!
would be interested in how you did that

You could get some custom ones too ;)

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Mazda-323-Ast...#ht_2410wt_802

HMT, that nardi really suits the BA, looks great! :D

HMT 23-03-2010 01:52 AM

Cheers :)
The dials were made to order by a german company called k-tec...

marshymob 24-03-2010 04:15 AM

stunning sparkle green ba

who do you get your paint from?
also is the front number plate on a bracket or just stuck on
love it

HMT 02-04-2010 07:26 PM

It's stuck on.
Flywheel now lightened...
http://www.project-l.com/images/bastel/2010/schwung.jpg
Still in need of a good clutch though - any suggestions?

Bought a new battery - Optima Redtop
Great power output, however, the fitment is "complicated" (if i'm kind)....
Due to the way it's made it wont fit properly into the slot plus the connectors are too far from the edges... :(
http://www.project-l.com/images/bastel/2010/redtop.jpg

However, the modified aircon panel is working now...
http://www.project-l.com/images/bast.../klimatest.jpg

And finally removed the door openers for painting
http://www.project-l.com/images/bast...0/griffeab.jpg

chris_vw89 04-04-2010 11:42 PM

Some nice progress you've made Chris. Have you got any pictures of the aircon how its now?

HMT 21-07-2011 12:54 AM

Sold the aircon panel some time ago. The car has been off the streets for about a year now since i bought a MX5 Roadster - however, it's not forgotten and will be back in 2012 :)
However, i decided to sell the MOMO wheels due to their excess weight and got some lighter replacements :)

You can check out my blog if you like for a few more pics http://driving-culture.blogspot.com/...ld-friend.html :)
The Roadster can also be found there...

HMT 18-04-2012 02:51 AM

Months and years passing by - finally some development! :D

Got some parts back from powder coating, got a new set of wheels and started reassembling the car at the weekend - should be back on the road this month and i'm pretty chuffed!

See you next time :)
http://www.project-l.com/images/myla...12/lanbok7.jpg

Really have to take better care of the car, but my work and my Roadster have been taking most of my free time away...

Mad Mat 19-10-2012 07:18 AM

HMT 19-10-2012 03:50 PM

project.r.racing 19-10-2012 03:51 PM

HMT 19-10-2012 08:03 PM

how much did you lighten the flywheel?

Clean_Cookie 20-10-2012 09:50 AM

And where did you find those rear skirt thingos. Makes the bumper look much better.

HMT 20-10-2012 05:15 PM

Well, they were actually sold by Mazda dealers in germany - as was the whole body kit...they're from an austrian company but have long been discontinued. However, there were some fibreglass copies on the market a couple of years ago. They can still be found on ebay every now and then...
The flywheel was lightened about 2.5 kg, if i remember correclty...

Clean_Cookie 20-10-2012 11:25 PM

If you see a set for sale please let me know ;)

HMT 24-10-2012 05:09 AM

Can do mate, might take a while though. The golden era for Lantis parts is over :(

HMT 05-04-2013 02:02 AM

So i swapped the suspension again and did some basic conservation...

Now i still have to swap the front axles, renew the axle dust covers, swap the brake hoses for braided steel ones and get the alignment done - good thing i move in 2 weeks...oh yes, and the timing beld is over due ^^
