Yoursport front bumper, with a pic this time
I can't decide if I've done well, and found a gem in the rough, or if I've lost my mind, and my addiction is taking over :D
But in any case, I brought me this for $50 today Yoursport bumper- definitely seen better days http://i.imgur.com/spTdpWPl.jpg I told myself all day I didn't want or need this, but I just can't look past something this rare ..... But jeez, look how bad a condition its in And I wonder if I could find some genuine spotlights to fit......... yeah, right. A snowflake in hell has a better chance aye ;) |
It's only fifty bucks so don't worry if the repairs don't work, if you're happy to pay that then it's a bargain.
|
So the clear covers have been painted? Or are then just outlined and not cut out?
Bargain though. Always liked the look of it and the YS ducktail, but just not the M3-copy sideskirts they made. |
Yeah I saw 1 of those side skirts on the car I found this. Ugly looking thing. Doesn't complement the car at all.
So those covers are meant to be clear aye? must be painted because its definitely cut out I think. ta rupe |
Yeah, clear perspex with the fogs underneath.
|
Ah bargain. especially at $50 NZ. how I miss that place on odd times.
if it's Fibreglass or even not , even FPR. It's just labour intensive to repair but will be well worth it. My tip if you fear cracking the bottom fibreglass a strip of aluminium into it. from behind if you do even make it flex of hit it hard it will only crack and not separate into many pieces hopefully. |
at least is has the covers. so many used ones dont. that is a bonus.

It should plastic weld up nicely, depending on how much you want to spend it will look like new, the main thing is if all the mounts are there and not broken, its easy to plastic repair long flat surfaces, id clean it off, scotch bright it down and have a really close look at how many cracks it has, you will probably find its not too bad at all (except for that one on the bottom, but at least its semi flat). and any paint shop should be able to fix the right corner with a bit on bondo.
Good luck IF you want to do it yourself the easiest way it to use bondo patches on the underside of the crack, just leave enough gap for the filler, obviously plastic weld is a much better option though. |
