difference between mazda turbo block and non turbo

Hi everyone, This is my first post, please forgive me if get it wrong.
My Mate has Mazda 929 coupe Turbo, and he has non Turbo 929 coupe.
Turbo block was no good. Got non Turbo block rebored, new pistons, head shaved and shimmed etc etc, The Non turbo block has no were for Turbo oil feed to connect, We have sorted that problem out with t piece in turbo oil feed. The engine is in the car just today, havent started it yet but cranked it over for a bit.
Ok we have just a bad thought is there any thing else we should have done , like oil pump, cam etc. before we try to start it.
Any help would be Greatly taken on board.

929 FE turbo [drool],
A few years ago i would have been all over this. From memory Mazda drill, tap and plug oil and water feeds for turbos' based on a whim. This is somewhat frustrating when you've built an engine and find that it's something you forgot to check.
Early (SHE) turbos were add ons so there is no problem with internals. The later (ES) turbos were factory and had some stronger parts and those parts could handle big boost.

and I forgot to mention , we used the oil cooler thingy, seems weird, hot water is going to cool the oil, any way is back in its place with all new hose's.

The most common changes to most 80's turbo's form factory

are - oil cooler (normally filter mounted) sodeium filled exhasut valves - higher rated springs on valves. some were oil squirter fitted, they also would run on some mazda's as part of the added water lines - a rerouting of the cooling system. but as said mazda were weird on some early blocks to just pick any place to get oil feed and then on some with water feeds just add in grab points on the by pass lines. some latter model's it's clearer it was then part of the assembly line. noted by all machine welding - where as some had hand braised/welded on nipple fittings

Thanks , some more helpfull info,Yep this one has the filter mounted oil coooler reinstalled, the head was prepared for a trurbo ( high rated springs etc) Looks like we have to hook up the fuel and fire it up.
Thanks

Crank- Turbo -Non Turbo

:( I have both cranks side by side Turbo and non Turbo
Seems the Turbo Crank is much Stronger in the Mains and Condrod erea.
Hmm Ok looks like the turbo crank may have to go and get ready for the new over size pistons etc:(
