The eBay flasher that I bought was nowhere near the right size/plug

Work the board out of the shell - I found flexing the shell while pulling on the last pin worked best (ignore the screwdriver)
Replace highlighted resistor (R1) with a 270K resistor.
New 270K, 1% resistor installed along with the old one (which is 100K 5% I think - my eyesight isn't as good as my cameras  )
